A few minutes after leaving the bridge, Ben was setting foot within sickbay, starting to finally feel familiar with the layout of the ship. At least he had got off on the right deck this time. He made his way through the main bay, and headed towards the medical lab, nodding to some of the crew who were either on duty or waiting for a medical. A young female ensign was running through some of the results of a medical she had just performed; Ben caught her eye as he walked briskly through.

“Is there something up, Doctor?” asked Ensign Hobbs as she closed down the medical file.

“Oh, nothing out of the ordinary… just a corpse that the away team are about to beam aboard.” he said with a wry smile. “Do you want to help with the autopsy?” he asked.

“Certainly!” the younger doctor said, almost a little too excited as the two of them walked into the medical lab. Without prompting, she instructed the computer to set up a level 10 forcefield around one of the autopsy beds. Whilst the transporter would do a good job at filtering anything out that it knew was dangerous to the crew, it wouldn’t filter out anything it was not programmed to.

“Thank you Ensign!” Ben said with a grin. Let’s see what they have for us.
