Where the live feeds had shown the same thing all around from different perspectives, as the security team moved away to search the rest of the ship, the bridge crew got a look at the rest of the Red Dwarf as they entered the bridge. Forward the bridge had seating for two. One seat was smaller than the other and looked worn, cracked and well used. The other, by the odds and ends floating about the bridge, probably held the now floating flotsam. One of the viewports was starred with cracks and fractures. Damage here looked more limited to some localized power overloads on a panel or three. This bridge had been heavily modified where virtually everything was within reach of the small command seat making it look more like the image of an old airplane cockpit.

They moved on to auxiliary control and something only seen vaguely from the flashlight which in itself was pointing forward and not up - a ghostly visage with empty eye sockets and mouth in an open silent scream .. that looked like it was coming straight for them ..

Away Team

Ben almost physically jumped as the apparition moved toward the camera, almost making it feel like it was going to reach out of the view screen and appear on the bridge.

Cochrane’s voice came over the comms. =/\= Scan for possible contaminants and then bag and tag if they are clean, Commander. Bring them back here for the autopsy. =/\=

Ben blinked. He had been a bit tired over the last couple of days, trying to get into the new routine, but he wasn’t entirely convinced that was a corpse.

“Commander,” he said, aiming his question at Fayth, “can you confirm that was definitely a body? It just looked more… well… ghostly from my perspective.” Ben shot a look at Cochrane to see if it was just him imaging things.

Cochrane smiled and said “Saw that too, huh?” and then he looked at the CMO. “But it’s a body. The XO would be much more excited if it was a ghost.” and he chuckled.
