Koro paused in his balancing and looked at Sovrk. “Because it’s fun! Mama told me about funa… funra” He frowned, teh word not coming to mind the way he wished it would.

“Funambulism,” Sair said. “Someone told me about different forms of acrobatics from Earth, and there is one where they balance on a thin wire or rope high above the ground. It’s also known as tight rop walking. He’s been enthralled ever since. Koro has little fear.”

Sovrk stayed silent as he listened to them. After a bit he nodded “I see it would help with balance and cordination… ultimatly in situations where there is high danger and a need for the skill I could see where it woudld become useful.” He nodded and then gave a small snort. “Yes that I can see… just be careful then.” He said further and then turned his eyes back to Sair.

She sighed. “As for Kobliad, it’s complicated. It’s a very mixed place for me, a sometimes painful one, and there is a reason I went as far away as I could. I never quite intended for that to be in the Delta Quardrant, but that is how things worked out.”

“I understand. I have no doubt your reasons are valid for yourself. It may not be the same however a Holodeck may be able to abait some of your longing I would hope.” He said offering some slightly awakward words in an attempt to give some comfort.

Sair grinned. “You are now the second person to suggest a program. I suppose that means the idea has merit and I should try it out, though to be honest, I have no skills with the holodeck. I mean, I can learn, of course, but we don’t have holodecks on Kobliad and I’ve only just recently discovered their wondrous nature.”

“What about you? Is there a place in the galaxy that calls to you?”

“I don’t know about a place that calls to me… though I do often at times long for home.” He said somewhat somberly, as he broke through the emotionless mask he often wore; even if it was just for a moment. He nodded. “If there is any geological survey data on Kobalid, it shouldn’t be to difficult to replicate and recreate it in a simulation.” He said after a moment of consideration.

The shift in him didn’t go unnoticed but she also didn’t draw extra attention to the moment. “Oh, surface details are easy, I’m sure,” Sair said. “But can that capture the essence of a place? I’m not so sure. Then again, I suppose I have experienced a really wonderful program recently, so maybe I’m overthinking it. ” And she was feeling resistance to the idea. Was it because it might make her miss Kobliad in a way she hadn’t yet? Would it make her homesick? She didn’t need to make her time here on the Manhattan even more complicated than it already was.

As they turned the corner the glass house with outer curved shape rising high in the space. It sat next to the Hill and it filled the entire corner, the tessellated sides reaching the ceiling of the garden itself. Koro ran on ahead of them. To their right were raised beds to the crew to grow food (this was mirrored on the other side of the garden) and on their left was the outer side of the main bed where the ‘secret garden’ was. This space was off the rose arbour loop and had no formal path but led to a bench nestled amongst shrubs and small trees and beautiful perennials.
