“Blind fold mazes.” Eilah said and grinned again. “One person goes through a maze blindfolded while their partner who can see them guides them.”

Songz burst out into laughter. “Oh… oh, we definitely should do that one,” she said, laughing some more. These actually were really great ideas. Sair was usually focused on the individuals that made up the crew, and also keeping an eye on the overall tenor of the ship and making suggestions when she felt that people were overly stressed or what not. “These are so different than anything I ever did when I was a doctor working in a hospital. The structure and discipline is similar to Starfleet, but it really is a whole different world here.”

“As Security chief, I say there’s nothing more important than a team that can work together. Individual mood plays into that, but a good team also raises morale.” Eilah smiled. “Of course, I can read the overall ship mood, but keeping that teamwork going, that takes work.”

Then he nodded. “My sister is the chief medical officer on Oed. I hear all about how the hospitals work. It is absolutely very different.”

Sair smiled. “I miss the people I worked with quite a lot sometimes. It’s hard here sometimes. Still trying to find my place. But I don’t miss the cost of my work at the hospital. There’s a reason I went back to the exchange program, and that reason is still a valid one. So I’m trying to make this work, for both me and my son.”

Eilah nodded. “This is what I joined for. I was more than happy to take this post. Especially after a lengthy stay at a starbase.” He shrugged and teetered his head from side to side. “Not that I didn’t like the starbase, but it’s just… not what I was looking for, you know?”

Sair nodded, understanding filling her brown eyes and radiating from her. “I retrained in counselling to focus on the living, and it’s not always easy, but at least I feel more like I’m succeeding at what I do.”

She leaned forward and studied him for a moment. “You’re getting settled, and I need to find a way to be a part of the team. Would you help me with this? Show me some of these team building exercises you know and maybe we can pitch them to the captain as something for the senior staff to do?”
