I do hope Dr. Hudson took the time to read over my entire medical history, Bezre thought as they made their way to the Manhatten’s sickbay. They wore their purple Tholian silk jumpsuit with a sheer full-body jacket. Upon their head was a matching headscarf wrapped in neat lines and anchored to that a veil to cover their face. It would remain there until they adjusted to the artifical lighting of the ship. A process that could take weeks but such is life with sensitive skin like theirs. With luck they’ll be far more knowledgable than my last Federation doctor. That woman never listened to a single thing I said.Bezre stepped into sickbay and quickly scanned the room. No one coughing, puking or leaking body fluids. The space perfectly clean and orderly. Excellent. They stood in the center of the room, careful not to brush up against any one or anything. A nurse with a pleasant smile quickly greeted them and said, “Welcome, diplomat Bezre Myrh. Your examination room has been completely sanitized per the instructions your assistant sent us and the lighting has been reduced by 15%. Please follow me,”
At least someone here can be counted upon to listen to me, Bezre thought with pride as they followed the nurse. Their dear student may gripe and complain but he’s never once failed to listen to them and do as instructed. “Thank you, I really appriciate the work you do to care for your patients.” Bezre inclined their head as the nurse took her leave. The trill sat primly upon the edge of a biobed, carefully balanced so that they were comfortable while touching as little of the bed as possible. Not that it wasn’t a fine bed but that covering appeared to be made of replicated fabrics which never failed to irritate their skin.

Having just finished sterilising his hands, Ben enter the bay, which was isolated from the rest of the sickbay wards.
“Bezre Myrh?” he asked, semi-rhetorically, knowing the response was almost certain to be a yes. If not, something had gone a bit awry. He picked up a sanitised PADD and tricorder from the trolley in the bay, and took a seat opposite the civilian. He had previously read Bezre’s medical file, so had a relatively good understanding of her condition, but liked to hear the patient’s perspective during the first medical.

CMOBezre inclined their head in greeting and answered in kind, “And you must be Doctor Hudson. Did you have any questions about my medical history or my medical file?” They assumed the doctor had already read it and saved everyone’s time. The file practically a novel in length, the majority of which devoted to Bezre’s history and shorter medical summaries of all the previous Myrh hosts.

“Not directly,” Ben replied, as he started waving the tricorder around Bezre, “however it would be good to get your views on what the most important things are about both your medical history and how you would describe your current medical condition.” Ben paused for a moment as he read the scan results. “I find that the patient, whether they are conscious of it or not, tend to be better at explaining what’s most important to them than any length of medical report would.”
