Shortly after his meeting with the Captain, Eilah made his way to sickbay. The place always made him think of his little sister. She was a doctor, assigned elsewhere, but even before that, she had always liked ‘healing his booboos’ when they were children.

Eilah was a strong telepath - sickbay was never a fun place. He wondered how Sharah managed as the department head of one. He was all the more proud of his baby sister for it. He spoke briefly with a nurse, checking in for a boarding exam, then sat down and waited patiently.

OOC: bump for new CMO

As Eilah sat in one of the eight uncomfortable chairs that adorned the waiting room, the nurse went back to her desk and inputted some of Eilah’s details into the system, calling up his medical records from the file that had been sent by Starfleet in advance. Loading the data on to a padd, she moved across to one of the offices that partially opened up into the waiting area. Eilah could hear her speaking to a man who was sat inside.

“Marvellous, a volunteer!” exclaimed the voice, perhaps a little too loudly than what the owner of it had expected. A few seconds later, a young man wearing lieutenant pips and the blue-teal colour of the sciences appeared from the partitioned office, and glanced over towards the relatively short betazoid. “I’m assuming you’re Leftenant Commander Fayth?” he said in his English accent. Whilst the medical file in his hand had given him a description of Eilah, he was also the only patient in sickbay, so Ben’s deduction was not particularly ground breaking.

“That’s me.” Eilah replied, standing to greet the CMO. “And you are?” He asked. The new CMO, he gathered, but since they would be working on the same ship, he’d rather be on friendly terms. His medical file was not long. No major illnesses, a few injuries but none recent. Every physical was passed with flying colours.

“Ben,” the young doctor started, extending his hand. “Ben Hudson” he finished. “I’ve only just arrived on the Manhattan, so you’re my first victim.” he said with a wry smile. “It’s good to see the crew volunteering for medicals. Usually I have to threaten the use of a sedative.” he said, pointing toward one of the bio beds.

“How long have you been assigned to the ship?”

“If my sister found out I was avoiding medical, she’d give me her own earful,” Eilah said, chuckling at the thought. “She’s the CMO on the Oed V colony.” He sat on the biobed. “About a week. I’m still settling in.”

Ben flashed a knowing grin, “Ah, a fellow sibling in the medical field. My sister isn’t in medicine, but I assure you, she’d be the first to nag me if I tried avoiding my own check-ups.” He approached the biobed, beginning to run a standard medical scanner over Eilah.

“A week, you say? It’s always a bit overwhelming when you join a new ship; it’s only been a couple of days for me and I am still getting lost! But I’m sure we’ll both settle in no time. Now, any specific concerns?” he asked.
