It was hard to believe that it was time for Shedda to have another annual physical. Had she really been here that long? It didn’t seem like it. She’d settled into a routine, though there was nothing regular about it. She visited sickbay regularly for her hormone suppressants, but it was usually just a quick visit to let the doctor or nurse press the hypo to her neck and then she was on her way. Today she entered and waited quietly after informing the first person who asked she was there for her regular physical.

A vulcan nurse looked up from one of the medical stations to the side of the main bay that Mal’athar had entered.

“Greetings, Ma’am” the nurse said, moving toward her. When she informed him she was there for her regular physical, the vulcan nodded. “Doctor Hudson is currently dealing with another patient,” he explain, “but we can start some of the preliminary scans. I expect he will be free shortly so he can continue with the medical, otherwise we can book you in to come back at another time.” he said. His logic, whilst irrefutable, came across as slightly patronising.
