Sorvk nodded. “They were not adapated to it no… I do not think the plannet could support it if I am honest.” He nodded afterwords. “Sometimes life occours through natural evolution, others it occurs through settling so its good your people found a good home. Uh… let me put this away.” He resisted until the samples were neatly put away, then he did not resist the small woman. He followd after her as she tugged on his shirt. Making careful strides to not step on her

Kaia let go once she was sure Sovrk was following, and the two ended up in an empty Holodeck. “Computer, load Kaia 4f.”

There was a shimmer, and a grassy meadow loaded into existence. “GRASS!” she exclaimed, looking at him, then gesturing towards said grass. “Now walk on it.”

Sovrk followed behind and stopped at the door. Given the program name he raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything. After a moment of looking at it he nodded. Were it anyone else this act may have gained a chuckle or laugh, however the Vulcan did neither. He stepped in a few feet and knelt down. He ran his hand through the grass getting a feel for it his face showed that he was perplexed. “I didnt expect it to be so soft.” He muttered to himself “A different experience. Thank you Kaia.”

If Kaia had shoes on she would have kicked them off as she stepped into the grass. It was a wildgrass meadow, so there was far more than just grass, but the grass itself was so tall that the Raka nearly vanished among the stalks. She laughed happily, running through the field and getting plenty of burrs stuck in her uniform. Not that they’d exist once they left the holodeck. One of the great benefits to this technology. Kaia might be 17, nearly a third of the way through her natural lifespan, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t allowed to have a little fun. One thing that confused her about some longer-living species is how, once they became adults, they stopped having innocent fun. She didn’t understand that.

She also didn’t notice that she left Sovrk behind, not noticing that he failed to immediately follow after her.

Sovrk heard the rustling as Kaia shot off into the tall grass. he didn’t seem worried as his little guide ran off and left him. He continued at his own slow and deliberate pace, every so often taking a piece of grass between his fingers and feeling it, comparing the texture, feel, how it looked, studying the grass a bit as one would expect a botanist would who has come into contact with a new species of plants that they had never seen before. As one of the burrs stuck to him he pulled it off and so to studdied it for a few minutes in quiet contemplation.

Kaia continued to enjoy the grass for a little longer before returning to Sovrk, her tail twitching happily, eyes squinty as she looked up at Sovrk. Her fur was a little tangled, but nothing a good brushing wouldn’t fix. “So, what do you think of the grass? I know it’s not real, cause we’re in a holodeck and all, but it’s the thought that counts?”

Sovrk looked from his cross sample where he had almost dissected a blade of grass on his fingers and was studying it. “Well things on the holodeck become as real as you or I while active… though it can’t leave here.” He looks thoughtful as he smushes the grass around his fingers staining them a little with bits of green. “It’s good. Softer than I would have thought with each individual piece of grass being called a blade of grass.”

Kaia’s tail flicked happily. “Glad you, uh… like it?” she chuckled, then gestured towards the archway, which was still visible. “I guess you should probably get back to work?”

Sovrk nodded. “I am not sure how to feel. It is a new experience for me and one that I am sure I will have again.” He stood up straight and chuckled his gaze turned to Kaia. “You have uh…” HE just makes a gesture to his own body incating the burrs stuck in her clothes and or fur. “I probably should… but everyone needs to take a break every now and then, it does allow for new perspectives.” He said musing softly.
