((this follows “Checking off the boxes”. .. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/216135/ thread where XO leads Juliet to CNS during meandering conversation thru the ship… Basically hoodwinked to get her here… Though to be fair, she’s been “busy” and missed her check in and subsequent reschedule))

Inside, Sair was sitting at her desk, finishing some patient notes. Standing fairly tall for many humanoid species, the Kobliad had straight pink coloured hair that fell to her chin. Her light brown eyes were deeply set amongst the prominent vertical facial ridges that split her hairline, intersected by thinner horizontal ridges. As she looked up, her base expression gave her something of a stern look. Most definitely on the lean side, the counsellor worse simple black trousers and a dark blue tunic that she had adopted in her previous stint on a Starfleet facility: her version of a uniform. She did have a standard combadge though.

A large area rug in muted blues, greys and greens spanned half of the therapy area in front of her desk and she had set a small round coffee table in front of a small sofa and two arm chairs, all in a blue-grey colour. Behind that was the desk she sat at, with two basic chairs in front and a pale wooden shelving unit to the left by the replicator.

Next to the door was a stone sculpture that was half the height of the door. Carved out of white dolomite, it was a miniature replica of the giant tree that was in the lobby of he Assembly Complex in Kobliad’s capital. The tree had a wide trunk with the appearance of a thick bark and was easily deciduous with sweeping branches with teardrop shaped leaves. Carved around the trunk of the tree were arms with hands seeming to hold the tree and they wound themselves up the trunk.

Juliet entered the councilor’s office smiling. “Between you and the XO, you could take over any ship and no one would know what you them. Apparently I have an appointment.” She was in casual clothes, having come from the Holo deck when the XO sought her out.

Sair set the PADD in her hand to the side and rose from her desk. “Well, normally I don’t have to go to such great lengths to have a chat.” She gestured to the sitting area. “Please, make yourself comfortable. I’m grabbing myself something to drink, can I get you anything from the replicator?” She found people fell into two camps when it came to having food or beverages during a session: either they stated what they wanted clearly (yes, or no), or they might want something but not want to impose themselves, and found it easier if Sair was already there.

Juliet laughed. “Obviously you didn’t read my file. At least I’m treating you like the rest.” As she moved to sit on the couch, she shook her head at the query. “Nothing for me, thank you. Had a meal before heading to holo deck earlier. So I’m still sated.”

She glanced around the room and took a breath. She knew her check in had been slipshot at best, she had basically slipped past it all with an I’ve been here before, just returning, so all’s well type attitude. “So, you are right in what you are about to say. I should have come and done a proper check in. Yes, I’ve been on the ship before, yes, nothing has changed in my records, but no that doesn’t make me exempt from the policies. So what would you like me to start with?”

There was no malice or attitude. She had merely admitted she was wrong and queried where the Councilor’s mind was in regards to what she wanted to know. Being the Councilor, unless the Captain had let her in on the secret, she would not be aware of Juliet’s unique background beyond the war and being an orphan taken in by a family on Earth and then reunited with her cousin on the Leviathan. She had been released from mandatory counciling a year ago and there had been nothing on her record since except a single altercation with a fellow security officer at her last post. She had deescalated it. But having been caught up in it to begin with, she was given a verbal warning that was logged in her record.
