Sickbay- The CSO meets the CMO
Posted by Lieutenant Harvey Davenport (Chief Medical Officer) in Sickbay- The CSO meets the CMO
<SNIP>Sovrk had gotten the notice as everyone else did that there was a new chief medical officer. Though he knew little of the person filling the position, he knew that there would be a number of times where both his department and the department of the CMO will cross. So being one to be proactive, he found himself on the turbolift. The lift quickly went from deck 6 to deck 3, and in moments the Vulcan stepped out onto the corridor of the deck. He headded onward down the corridor past the transporter room to get to Sickbay.
He soon stepped into sickbay. The 6‘1 Vulcan looked much like others of his species. his dark black hair and deep brown eyes leave little as somewhat normal traits. Much like he had the day he come for his medical evaluation he stood just inside, to the side of the door so that he did not obstruct the flow of people that came in or out of the area and just watched the hustle and bustle of the medical crew. He stood there for a little bit as he watched, looking for a new face, or someone giving orders that he didn’t already know.
Lt. J.G. Sovrk, CSOEntering sick bay Sovrk would observe a a fair skinned man of similar height with facial hair styled as a goatee. His hair light brown in color, short in length and well maintained. The doctor would be donning a standard grey/blue Starfleet uniform worn under a white lab coat with name ‘Dr Harvey Davenport” embroidered on the upper left side in black thread.
The doctor would be found at the far end of the sickbay addressing another crew member. “although your scan results appear to be within normal parameters, I would like you to take it easy and report back to me in a few days for a follow up” spoke the doctor in a professional manner. Walking alongside the NE crew member directing them towards the exit. In a courteous manner the doctor spoke one final time before the NE exited sickbay. “I will speak to your department head and have you restricted to light duties in the mean time, Take care”.
The Vulcan watched the injured man walk out of Sickbay. “It seems you won’t have to go far.” He said rather nonchalantly.
Watching as the NE exited sickbay Dr Davenport turned and observed the Vulcan, who was of similar height, stood close to the entrance. Approaching his the Dr spoke in a welcoming manner. “Good afternoon, I am Dr Davenport, how can I help you?, Do you have an appointment?” he said. Now standing by a console Harvey tapped several buttons opened his list of appointments and waited for a response.
Dr (Lt) H Davenport, CMO
“Good afternoon, no I don’t have an appointment. I am here to see the Chief Medical Officer.” He explained softly and adjusted his uniform, one solid pip and one black pip hung at his collar. “I am the Chief Science Officer. I think it is a matter of importance that he and I meet. But seeing as the name on your coat matches the message then I would say we are meeting.” He gave a small nod.
Lt.J.G. Sovrk, CSO“Good Afternoon, that would be me” responded the doctor in a welcoming manner. Approaching the science officer the young doctor extended his left hand to initiate a hand shake. “A pleasure to meet you” he went on to say. “I was actually meaning to summon you, I was sat last night reviewing crew medical records and observed that you have an outstanding medical evaluation”. He said directing the Vulcan towards a vacant bio bed. “Would now be a good time?” he went on to ask.
Dr (Lt) H Davenport, CMO
Sovrk riased his eyebrow, his expression ever so slightly dubious. “Is that right? I had no idea that one was overdue.” His expression smoothes out. “I am Sovrk.” He followed the Dr. Back andnshrugged before hopping up onto the biobed. “I suppose I can get examined while we talk. It would be best for us to have a good working relationship, as we may have to work closely toghether, more so than on other ships.”

“Indeed I agree, it would be only logical for us to maintain an efficient working relationship, as you say even more so than on other ship” Davenport began to say watching as the Vulcan science officer hopped onto the bio bed. “Tell me Lieutenant, has anything changed since your last physical?” Harvey asked scanning through the officers medical file. “I did note on your file there is reference to some scarring on your back, although the file lacks in information as to how the injury was inflicted I feel it would be appropriate to start by asking has the scarring been giving you any problems? He asked unholstering the tricorder from his waistband. Davenport waited for the Science office to respond before he began his scans.

Sovrk nodded and then took in a breath. “I am just as good when I had my physical on my arrival. The nausea is gone, so that is good. Otherwise I do believe I am as fit as when I came onboard. I have not noticed any decrease in condition.” Hearing the question about his scars he exhaled a little sharply. “They have not caused me any issue that I know of. They were obtained during a ritual my people may have to go through. I would rather not talk about it other than I do not think that they are causing me any ill effects, and I do not want treatment for them. Other than that you may look as you wish.”
