Sovrk looked thoughtful for a minute then nodded. “By virtue of my position I will have to at least get to know everyone of my department… as well as at least the other DH and all of command for this ship. If they wish to share personal matters I will not be objected to listen, though I doubt the advice I would able to give, if any, would be what they wanted to hear.” He explained as he thought.

Sair studied him for a moment and much like she had been doing so far, she simply followed the next logical question. “Why do you assume it won’t want to be what they want to hear?” she asked, bracing her elbow on the arm of the chair.

Sovrk paused a moment, clearly he did not expect the logical follow-up. But then after a moment he said. “Often when seeking advice one is looking to hear what they want to hear. Those details are often easily able to be missed in most circumstances. I may be able to produce flowery words, however I will be blunt to see speak on what I see. Putting things as they are. I believe that the truth, no matter how harmful or how much one may not want it to be said, or come out, must do so.” He took a breath, he placed his hands on his lap.

The pink-haired Kobliad nodded slightly. “Do you think that if you have reached a point in your interactions with someone that they are sharing personal information that they would trust you enough to welcome your perspective, even if it isn’t what they expect?”

Sovrk nodded. “Yes, it can be a double edged sword as well. Especially if what my opinion is, diametrically opposed to what they believe. It can cause a rift between individuals as well. Empathy is something that is lost on me. I suppose to an extent sympathy is as well.”
