Sovrk looked thoughtful and gave a small nod. “There is much potential for discovery. I believe that this is what I have been looking for.” He mused softly. Then he raised his gaze to look at her. “I found that I wanted to do some more research, and find something new… at least new to my people, and aid in our growth and discovery.” He added to explain what he had mused on.

She smiled and nodded. “Do you have any particular areas of research you’d like to explore?” Sair asked. She found his goals noble and also very compatible with the ship. Naturally, all very logical.

“I had not thought about anything sepific. I think for the advancement of my people to help broaden our understanding or find a technology that may be new to us. I guess in one way I want to explore and gain new experiences. This ship seemed to be the best option I had for that.” He explained softly. His tone though somewhat monotonious haid small airs of thoughtfulness in it.

“The Manhattan is a prime place to do the unusual and broaden one’s horizons,” Sair agreed. “How do you think your former role as an instructor will help you in that endeavour and here on the ship itself?”

Sovrk nodded and looked thoughtful. “Bring both student and teacher has taught me many things. I think that it prepares me best for the DH position as I am to supervise, aid, and guide my department much as I once did as an instructor. The circumstances and situations change, but the methodology is similar.” He explained as he nodded

She smiled at him, her eyes drifting to a moment to her tree sculpture before her light brown eyes settled on Sovrk again. “What about challenges? Are there any you anticipate having, or that you come to the ship that you are dealing with?” Boarding evals were fairly straight forward and it was only when someone came to her with established issues or a particular concern that they strayed from the usual.

Sovrk raised an eyebrow. “Challenges? That depends on the people in my department. So far I have met compitent and capable people, but there are also those who could hold a deep resentment somewhere either consciously or unconsciously. There are also those who always have to be right… they too will be difficult and problematic at times. The good thing about sentient creatures usually is they have a variable towards an adaptability to change. Though it differs from species to species, as well as individual to individual some are more inclined than others.”

Songz couldn’t help but smirk a little. “That is most definitely true.” Her own people did not handle change well at all and it had done them no favours. “But those are external challenges. We all carry our own with us, do we not?”
