He was funny, she had to give him that. Then again Faye had found herself do more smiling in the last while than she had in years, so it wasn’t just him. Still, he was pretty funny and she was enjoying the time she was spending with him, even though she should probably continue wit the rest of her meetings today.

“I’ve been through worse,” Faye said seriously, despite the smirk she wore.

Hammor looked at her and said “Haven’t we all…” in a mildly understanding manner. At that moment, the badge on Hammor’s chest chirped and a voice said =/\= Lieutenant, this is the station Quartermaster. Why are you not allowing my personnel off of your ship?! I swear, if I have to come down there, there will be hell to pay! =/\=

She snorted with laughter again, though this time without the fear of choking on her food.

Hammor looked directly at Faye, smiled broadly, and then laughed out loud. “Looks like the Quartermaster finally figured out how I intend to make him do his job.” and he reached forward and took a long drink from his glass. Still without responding to the Quartermaster, he cocked his head to the side looking at Faye and said “Look, I don’t want to put you out or anything… or monopolize your time.” he said with a chuckle. “But I’m gonna have to deal with this and I still owe you a tour. Want to meet up later? I get off shift at 1700 and usually grab dinner around 1900. I should have this guy’s blood washed off my hands by then…” he said with a grin.

“Watch the carpets. Pain in the ass to get out,” she bantered back effortlessly. “But sadly, tonight probably won’t be so great. It’s been a long day already and I still have other meetings to get to yet.” It was true and yet it sounded like an excuse, and it sounded like a lame one. There was a lot that would have to be explained and she suspected that it wouldn’t phase him nearly as much as it might others. “But… on the other hand, after I’ve dealt with my cargo, which won’t happen till this evening anyway, I’ll be in the CS Lab 2, so… come by and we’ll see about that tour.” It was a big enough ship that she won’t have seen everything by then. There would still be something for him to show her.
