She chuckled. “No special requests. I’m low maintenance. Never had much in the way of possessions and can’t say I’ve ever cared too much about my living space. Most of the time anyway.”

“As for my specialized equipment, I have backups for the necessary and hard to replace things, and the rest is stuff I can get on board the ship. But no can do on the manifest. Sorry, it’s classified,” Faye said seriously. “But the gear that isn’t used is locked and being stored in Cargo Bay 4-B on Deck 10. It’s well marked, so everyone will know to basically ignore that it’s there.”

Hammor scowled slightly for a moment, then said “Ok. Compromise, then. Get me the specs of power draw and computer usage. That, at least, will help me calculate out the right power distribution in the areas your gear is in. I mean, you can’t just go plugging in something that is gonna throw off my balances without giving me a heads up. I won’t ask what it is, but I do expect you to give me, in writing, something like ‘Hey, you need to expect a 130 watt increase in power draw from section 137 Delta for my gear.’. You give me that, and I won’t ask what it is your using. That work for you? Because otherwise, I’m gonna see a bunch of random power fluctuations and I won’t know if it’s you or if we have a problem. And I will always go with ‘problem’, in that circumstance.”

Faye nodded. “I’m perfectly alright with that. I’m really not here to make everyone’s life more difficult, though it will sometimes not seem like it. I will give you what you request and all i ask in return is the benefit of the doubt.” She was sincere too. Calloway wanted to put her best foot forward and the best way she knew how was to try to meet people somewhere in the middle… long as they were being reasonable, of course. She dig into her meal with gusto, feeling like this meeting was actually going quite well.

“Sweet!” Daggum said a bit too loudly, but he didn’t seem to register the startled looks from the surrounding tables. He, too, began digging in to his meal. After a few bites, he took a drink and said “You know, I should thank you. I haven’t actually sat and had a meal with anyone since I came on board. So… thanks.”

A snort caught in her throat as she chewed a bite of her food. “That would be a first,” she said after a moment. “Can’t say I’ve been thanked for socializing before.” Faye leaned forward slightly with an almost conspiratorially grin. “Might be best if you not tell anyone. It might ruin my highly crafted reputation as a social misfit. Then where would I be?”
