Faye snorted. “Yeah, that is about the last term people would use to describe me. I am, however, quite used to profanities being involved,” she said with a sparkle in her stormy eyes.

She was honestly a bit surprised he would show him his brands, especially since he didn’t know that she would know what they were about. It made her thoughtful and a bit more receptive to sharing more details. “I don’t have a brand. It would, in his words have marred me in a way that was undesirable. I was a hard worker though, which he appreciated. Like, I said, Orions traditionally haven’t been my favorite.”

Hammor smiled broadly and said “Yeah. Screw those guys.” with a smile. “And grenadine isn’t alcoholic. Think of it like cherry syrup. Like I said, I save the hard stuff for mornings.” and he took a bite and washed it down with some of the concoction. “So. Let’s get down to official business. You have some specialized equipment. I’m gonna need an inventory and location of that gear so I can get replacements and such in the event of an… ‘incident’… shall we say. And I need to know if you have any special requests for your quarters.” and he leaned forward and whispered conspiratorially. “But don’t broadcast that I am being so nice. I have a reputation to protect.” and he winked and leaned back.

She chuckled. “No special requests. I’m low maintenance. Never had much in the way of possessions and can’t say I’ve ever cared too much about my living space. Most of the time anyway.”

“As for my specialized equipment, I have backups for the necessary and hard to replace things, and the rest is stuff I can get on board the ship. But no can do on the manifest. Sorry, it’s classified,” Faye said seriously. “But the gear that isn’t used is locked and being stored in Cargo Bay 4-B on Deck 10. It’s well marked, so everyone will know to basically ignore that it’s there.”

Hammor scowled slightly for a moment, then said “Ok. Compromise, then. Get me the specs of power draw and computer usage. That, at least, will help me calculate out the right power distribution in the areas your gear is in. I mean, you can’t just go plugging in something that is gonna throw off my balances without giving me a heads up. I won’t ask what it is, but I do expect you to give me, in writing, something like ‘Hey, you need to expect a 130 watt increase in power draw from section 137 Delta for my gear.’. You give me that, and I won’t ask what it is your using. That work for you? Because otherwise, I’m gonna see a bunch of random power fluctuations and I won’t know if it’s you or if we have a problem. And I will always go with ‘problem’, in that circumstance.”
