“Again with the ominous foreshadowing” he laughed, “and here I was thinking we were going to get along so well. For the record, its Steinlager, cold, and if you really break something big time you owe me a pizza. Not the replicated kind but a whole one.”

“Good luck with that, Hevam,” she said with a teasing sort of grin, even as she had tossed the Romulan insult at him. “Out here? And with no appreciable cooking ability? You could be taking your life in your hands,” Faye retorted.

Max scratched his chin and looked at his team below once again. “I better get back to work” he said and offered his hand once again with his plain smile back. “Nice to meet you Lieutenant Calloway, try not to break too much before we get out of dock, please?”

She shook his hand. “I’ll try,” Calloway said with a long suffering sigh.

The tiny form of Ens. Kaia popped out of a nearby Jeffries Tube. It was so easy for the small alien to crawl around in the Manhattan’s crawlspaces, since she was so much smaller than the average humanoid. “Hello, Leftenant Commander,” she said with a grin. Then noticing the non-engineer in the room, she turned to wave a small, four-fingered hand. “Who’s your friend, Chief?”

Max had slightly raised his eyebrow, he wasnt yet used to having a small alien capable if going places that the small Galdorian did with such ease, but it was certainly a boon.

With a nod, he Introduced the two. “Ensign Kaia, this is Leiutenant Calloway, Faye is our ships data specialist and is going to be working on a few things that might strain our EPS grid in a few spots. Shes going to let us know where and when, so we just need to monitor the grid and perhaps reduce the flow or route it alternately while the work takes place. The Leutenant is also rated level 3 In Engineering, so if we need an extra helping hand we can count on her aid.” Then, he looked back to Faye. “Faye this is one of my senior Engineers, Ensign Kaia. Of I’m not on hand here, Kaia is the one you need.”

Faye actually actually need the introduction, but they wouldn’t know that, nor would they understand why. All the same, Faye pretended as if the introduction was needed. She did take in the diminutive engineer with curiosity and a respectful nod. “Hello. As I told the Chief, I apologize in advance if my work creates a mess, but I promise to help with the clean up.”
