Faye's Quarters- This is the Delta Quadrant Calling

Her fingers tapped on the desk as she read over the file once again, making sure she had a clear idea about how to go about this. The reality was that she could just let Intelligence send her orders ahead and she could show up. But Faye knew that this transition was a harder one and that anything she could do to make things easier for herself, the better. Having a little tête-a-tête with her new supervisor would ease her own anxiety and allow him to ask any questions that were best answered before she got going on her new project.Tess was sitting on her desk, as per usual, and watching her person with curious eyes, ears twitching. Faye knew that Tess could feel her nerves and was reacting. It was their usual pattern.
Faye exhaled and set up an encrypted call using her advanced protocols. Was she still a tiny bit paranoid about The Shadow Syndicate messing with her? Yes. Was it likely? No. Still, she knew Nightstalker would appreciate the foresight given that their call was going to cover some classified topics as well as some that were simply ‘Need to Know’.
Once the connection was confirmed to be secure, Faye opened the call and waited. She thought about preempting the call with a note but figured it would be more fun to see if he knew who she was at first glance (as she suspected he would).

Stark has has a busy week, first their new incoming CE had triggered an “Amber” alert in his routine background check and now the knowledge of who was making this call had convinced him again that the Athena was fated to be a lightning rod for everything dangerous in the universe.
Everyone had their own signature when they encrypted their calls, certain things that were consistent over time even when they tried not to be. It was like someone trying to create a random pattern over a wall that when they looked at when finished had a subtle symmetry in it that only the unconscious mind could create.
He’d narrowed it down to three people from the signature but from his knowledge of connections on the ship he was relatively sure who was calling.
He opened the channel adding his own layer of security including a trap for anyone who tried to break it.
“Faye, lovely to hear from you”.
