Hammor shook his head. “Not long. Couple of months. The crew is pretty solid. Professional. Socially it’s a bit closed off, each group kind of sticks to their own. But I was never one for being a ‘social butterfly’, so my opinion may be a bit skewed.” he replied as they reached the turbolift doors and stepped inside. “Deck 8.” Daggum said and the lift began taking them to the Lounge.

“Oh good. I won’t have to worry about party invites every week and being a social misfit any more than I already am,” Faye said with amusement. She glanced up at Hammmor. “That unorthodox mind of mine also has a skewed sense of social norms. Just so you know in advance. I’d also apologize in advance, but I blanket apologies really aren’t my thing.”

Hammer looked down at Faye and said “Not much on apologies in general, unless they are warranted. You just be you, I’ll be me, and maybe we will hit it off. Maybe we will hate each other. Only time will tell, right?” and he smiled as the doors opened. “After you. Let’s see how impressive this appetite of yours really is.”

Faye couldn’t help but chuckle slightly as they left his office. She’d had people she got along with and there had been plenty she hadn’t as well. For various reasons, of course. But Hammor seemed like a person she could not only tolerate but actually enjoy having exchanges with. Or least that was her initial impression.

Entering the lounge a short while later, Faye looked around at the modest space and pointed to a table with two chairs by the windows. It had a good line of sight and wasn’t too far from the replicator. “That one looks good,” she commented. “I’ll grab it for us and think about what I want while you grab your your first.”
