“So, am I going to be in Lab One or Two, and how much of it do I get to myself?” Calloway asked pointedly. How may people were hanging about at any given time could help or hinder her work, so she wanted to be prepared.

Xeal and Fay walked along the corridor and continued to chat till they arrived. “Well this is it, You’ll have Science lab two. It’s smaller then the other but it’s no broom closet.” They both walked in and the lab had two stations within it. “Your station will be the one on the right. For the most part the lab will be yours, but from time to time we may need to use the second station within this room.”
Faye moved slowly, taking in the details as he spoke. She was quiet as her mind began to truly absorb the implications of being on the Manhattan. Could she really do this? It wasn’t the Curie where her undiagnosed condition combined with her unnecessary fear of prison for her past life had thrown her over the edge, and it also wasn’t the Samurai with the Marine she had love to hate and another man she’d have blindly loved. The in between time from then and here now existed like a gulf that some days threatened to swallow her whole but as she stood in that lab she felt a calmness she couldn’t quite explain.
Xeal turned to look at Calloway. “Is this satisfactory?” He asked her.

His question took an extra moment to process and her grey-green eyes that resembled the colour of a stormy sea seemed confused as they met his gaze. “Hmmm? Oh, yes, more than satisfactory,” she said quietly, moving in farther into the lab.
Faye ran her hand along the edge of a console table with a depth of reverence she wasn’t sure she could explain. In that moment she could only remember the thrill of hacking the Atlantis’ computer (with permission, of course) and doing two-to-tow with their mysterious saboteur. Even though he had dealt her enough of a blow to land her in Sickbay, in the precious moments where she had been racing against time she had felt something inside of her shift. Was this what it was like to come face-to-face with your purpose, or at least some part of it? She supposed she was about to find out, and rather publicly too.
