“Ten minutes! Wow!” Faye said with a laugh. “Dag and I contemplated eloping but it was a idea for me. But for him? If he really wanted it? Yeah I’d have done it,” she said with a warm smile. “I like your Mike already. I have to admit, he’s got style!”

Revna sighed rather dramatically and leaned her head way back looking at the ceiling of the garden, “He’s got more style than I can keep up with.” She lifted her head and looked back at Faye, laughing, “But I wouldn’t change it. His style makes life amazing. You know at the time we didn’t even think about the fact we were eloping. It was just…right. I knew nothing was going to change how I felt about Mike. It was our moment and we claimed it. And your moment with Dag will be just as amazing.”

“The fact we ‘eloped’ hit us about…oh a few hours after we’d gone to the magistrate to file our marriage.” Revna began to laugh so hard her eyes watered. “So…of course by the time we got to the magistrate the vids were everywhere. Mike used his…clout to get us an early appointment with the magistrate. We walk in…” she laughs harder for a moment. “She says hello to Mike and then looks at me really funny and goes, ‘and you’re her.’ I’m still so wrapped up in the fact we’re married I just nod and go, ‘I am.’ It took me till we left the woman’s office to figure out she didn’t mean I was his wife, the person whose name was going on the marriage license, she meant I was her from the vids.”

Faye chuckled picturing he scene in her head. “I can imagine it took awhile for reality to sink in, but I can tell you don’t regret it at all.”

“I still wake up some mornings and have to remind myself. But no I don’t regret any of it, even the bad things.”

She gazed about the layers of garden bed that surrounded them, soaking in the smallest of details, knowing that soon enough there would be the first of many last moments here. It was a bittersweet thought. “I’m sort of glad we didn’t rush into the wedding. I just went through this massive upheaval in my life and even though parts of it have settled down, a lot of it still continues. If I get too overwhelmed in my personal life, I get symptomatic. Work is easier unless it’s clouding the line between professional and personal like it had been recently. And I have these ambitious goals that even a few years ago I would have laughed at someone if they had told me this is what I’d be doing. Can I ask you something though?”

Revna could understand not rushing, allowing life to happen in its own time. For Revna it was different, she’d done her waiting and it was time to grab life before it left her behind, again. “Of course, anything you like.”
