Daggum smiled as he cleaned up their ‘picnic’ and settled into the co-pilot’s chair. “I’m no Se’chenkin Drellifruk, but I can probably manage to not step on your toes.” he said with a grin. “What about you, soon-to-be-wife-of-mine? And if you do, where did you learn?”

With half her gaze on the readouts, but her focused mostly on Dag, Faye smiled. “I do. Maybe it’s my thing, I don’t know. But I come from a long line of artistic women, but playing music was never my thing. But I love music and I love moving to it. It wasn’t until after I left Kodell that I like dancing. Doesn’t matter what, really. I pick up stuff fast, but I really like mixing things together. And I especially love a Terran style called hip hop. Electric dance music of all kinds is also awesome.” She gave him a sideways grin. “I can show you in a little while.”

“What other little things don’t I know yet?” Faye asked. “What hobbies should I know about?”

Daggum’s eyes narrowed and he looked at her mock-suspiciously. “Did I tell you about my… ‘collection’?” he asked with a hint of sinister mystery to his voice.

Daggum

“I… don’t think so? But I have a fantastic memory, so I doubt I’d have forgotten if it’s as interesting as I think it might be.” Or maybe he had and she had just been a little all over the place this week and so much had happened that her brain had glitched? Either way, it didn’t matter and would be new now.

Daggum grinned and chuckled. “Interesting to me, but I doubt it will be to you. I collect comic books. From Earth. They are a magazine that presents a serialized story in the form of an illustrated comic strip, typically featuring the adventures of a superhero or heroes… but not always. Anyway, I love them. Paul used one to teach me how to read Federation Standard, and I’ve been collecting them ever since I left Orion. I have… oh… two hundred? Maybe three? I’ve found them all over. I don’t know why, but they seem to persist from years ad years ago. So… I have a ‘collection’.”

Okay, good. So she hadn’t just forgotten. Faye was certain she’d have remembered that detail about him. “Interesting. So do you still read them? And how do you store that many?” Faye’s brand of reading was varied but graphic stories hadn’t been something she had much experience with.

Daggum nodded. “I do. Love to read them, actually. I keep them in small environmentally-controlled storage crates in my quarters. Good thing about being the Operations Chief, no one questions why I have crates stacked up in my room.” and he laughed.
