“Oh, well then, I suppose I’m happy to oblige,” Faye said as she gazed down into his beautiful emerald eyes. She held that gaze, letting his fingers caress her bare arms before she sat back up a little and removed her beaded blouse slowly. While her and Daggum had spent more time out of their hotel room than she and Kiama had joked they might, she was happy to soak up every moment of intimacy they could manage.

It was a good thing their picnic was sweet things and sandwiches since it meant they didn’t have to worry about their distraction ruining their meal. Faye had lost track of time but she wasn’t worried about it at all. That was the joy she was learning about being on vacation- you could never really be late.

So dressing again, Faye shot Daggum a smirk. “You know, time apart is going to make every reunion we have rather interesting. Though next time I say we go somewhere else that isn’t near either of our ships. After all, I swear I’ve spent as much time on the Manhattan than I have on the station,” she said with a laugh. She didn’t mind though. She had enjoyed showing Daggum places she loved and having him spend time with others she cared about. Tonight was their last night together before he left and she didn’t feel like they had wasted any of this week.

Daggum grinned as he pulled on his shirt. “Well… the next time is probably going to involve a wedding and a honeymoon, right? Thats a human tradition, isn’t it? Get married, go on vacation.” and he chuckled. “And I don’t know about you, but I’m not keen to spend my honeymoon on the Athena. Don’t get me wrong, the lounge is amazing… but it ain’t that amazing.” He took Faye in his arms and held her close, looking down at her. “You know… we could get married tonight. Just us. Not tell anyone. We could me married while we wait for the wedding…” and he grinned.

Gazing up into his eyes, Faye’s were wide. “You’re serious, aren’t you?” Her mouth dropped open for a moment. “Oh Dag! I would love more than anything to just say yes and go get married. More than anything! But impulsive behaviour is one of my symptoms and I don’t think it’s a good idea for me.” She wrapped her arms tightly around him, hoping he felt how much she loved him through the embrace. “I also just got out of a situation where I had to lie to people for a long time and I don’t want more of that, even for something so wonderful.”

Daggum lifted her off the floor as if she was only air and held her face to face with him. “That is the best reason to wait for something I have ever heard… I’m really proud of you, Faye. Never stop… and I will be with you every step of the way, no matter what.”

“I don’t want a long engagement though, that would be too hard. So tell you what. Let’s plan this wedding sooner rather than later and have it here on the Manhattan, where our love story began. In the garden, with people who love us. And then afterwards, we go on one hell of a honeymoon. Picka aplace. Hell, pick two!” she said witha laugh. “But know I’ll got anywhere with you. You’re stuck with me now,” Faye said, grinning.

Daggum kissed her and slowly lowered her to the floor. He looked at her for a long moment and then said “The Manhattan is perfect. I totally agree. And as far as a honeymoon… well, we have some time to think. Part of me actually wants to go to Orion, of all places. Just to see… actually see… how far we have come. But that is a whole complicated idea and I should probably talk to Janna about that when I get back.” and he laughed.
