For a second, she didn’t understand. Did they know about her pregnancy? If so, Alex had to have told them—no, he wouldn’t have done that, would he? Then she saw Revna looking at the necklace. OH!
Zef smiled shyly and held it out for them to see. “I made these for Alex and I. His opal is different, black with specks of oranges, greens and blues and I used gold for the metal. I found the image of ‘The Lovers’ from something called a Tarot card when I did a computer search. I micro sculpt lots of different things in my quarters.”

Revna leaned forward slightly to really get a good look at it. “It’s beautiful. You are quite skilled…”
“Definitely,” Faye said.
“Thank you, both of you.” She included the two women with a look that was just a bit shy. To sell her work to people she didn’t know was fine, but for friends to say she was talented—that was something else.
=/\=Mrs McKenzie. You have a priority message coming in from Chancellor Mirvquic of Ilidaria.=/\= Revna tapped her combadge, =/\=Please give my apology for the wait and that I can speak with him in 5 minutes. Please transfer it to my office.=/\= Revna stood up, “Duty calls. Zef that really is beautiful. I hope you feel better. I’m sure that” and she points to the crystalized mixture Harv gave her, “will help.” She walked around the table and paused and grinned at Faye, “It was a pleasure to meet you Lt Cmdr. If you play your cards right I might even show you my crown one day.” She laughed and then disappeared out the door.

Faye chuckled at the cryptic remark and yet something about it rang true. With a grin she shook her head and returned her attention to the necklace. “It really is lovely,” she said softly. “I didn’t know you were an artisan.” Then again, they really hadn’t spent much time together outside of Faye’s sessions and despite her attempt at friendship, she also knew that sometimes the line between therapist and friend couldn’t be crossed. She was okay with that even if it saddened her a little because sometimes she thought Zef seemed a little lonely on the ship, even if she had Alex.

Feeling much invigorated by the stew, Zef sat back in her chair and smiled at Faye. “it really is good to see you in a non professional setting. There should be more of this with us.” Her gaze shot over to the exit, “We could invite Revna sometimes too. I think she’s a good addition to the crew.”

Faye nodded. “Agreed,” she said softly. “To be honest, when I gave you the scarf I wasn’t sure if it was crossing a line or something. I’ve not always gotten along great with my therapists and I think most of the time I’m not someone they want to spend a lot of their downtime with and… I get it. But after everything that happened and everything that has continued to happen, I don’t want to be hiding out in my lab all the time. So… you’ll see me around more. Besides, Alex will kick my ass and lecture me about commanding officers having a presence and if I want to be one of those one day I better find my way own way of being visible. Or something like that,” she said with a smirk.

“Commanding Officer? Is he pushing you down that corridor?” She looked at Faye and tried to read her expression. As her counselor, Zef knew a somewhat different side of Faye than Alex did. “Is that something you want? Or are you doing it to please your own commanding officer?”
