The travel time for this new posting took much longer than Xeal was used to. Though it did give him tie to work on his new thesis on the potential use on biochemical energy conduits. It was his hope that Star Fleet would finally take his thesis and idea serious for a change. But then again id did occur to him that they did send him out to the Manhattan just to get him out of their way.the travel time also gave him more than enough time to study the Ship design as well as Event Horizon station. It was the Event Horizon that he was just being shuttled over to now. The station was not quite as big as he had imagined but Xeal thought that it was probably just big enough to protect the wormhole and facilitate transfers and Star Fleets new permanent presence in the Delta Quadrant.
Stepping off of the shuttle he immediately made his way to the airlock where the Manhattan was docked. It was getting late and he was tired, just wanting to go to his quarters and sleep till morning. But before he could do that he had to check in with at-least the CO. Making his way to the bridge of the Manhattan he stepped in to the turbolift thankful that this ship was larger than the ship he was brought here on. He no longer felt as though the walls were pressing in on him. This will be a good ship to call home for the next couple years. He thought.
The turbolift doors opened onto the bridge looking for the Captain. “Greetings I’m Xeal Loss permission to come onboard.”

OOC: Anyone is welcome to jump in here as well. :D
Though wearing Command Red the man in the Command chair only was wearing Lieutenant’s pips at the moment, so was not likely the Captain. His dark tousled visage did turn towards the Andorian, and smirked, “Permission to enter the Bridge granted Lieutenant, you’ll find the old man in his ready room. He’s had lunch so its probably safe to see him.” The man stated with a flat smile that did not say for sure he was joking.

“Thank you Lieutenant for the heads up.” Xeal then made his way to the captain’s ready room door, paused a moment fixed his uniform and pressed the Chime.

When the chime rang, a voice, though slightly muffled by the door, stated “Enter” and the door responded by allowing entrance into the Ready Room. There was a bookcase with actual books in multiple languages. There was a common thread among them, strategy and tactics, war and combat. To the right of the desk behind the Captain was a rounded bronze shield emblazoned with images of hearth and home. There appeared to be a sword and spear attached to said shield that were from the same era. On the left was a different type of shield more of a tear drop emblazzoned with a double barred cross on a field of white. This time the sword was settled into a rack above the shield. Near the door was a glass case with several models of ships, There was a stand marked Manhattan but it was currently Empty. On the opposite wall were a pair of paintings, one of a Sailing vessel having a battle at sea, and the other of Pendragon class Battleship fighting the Dominion.
The golden haired Captain looked from his desk as the door opened, blue eyes regarding his visitor, pleasantly, likely happy for the interuption to the mound of Starship Captains paperwork. Augmented by what ever extra work being here caused.

Xeal entered the office and stood at attention near the captains desk. “Lt Xeal Loss reporting for duty sir.” Even though he was at attention he noticed the books on the wall and was pleased that someone other than himself appreciated the textured and weight of a good book. He had also noticed the shield and swards. It would appear that the captain is a collector of sorts. he told himself.
“I am your new Chief Science Officer you requested.” Xeal didn’t know why he had mentioned this. Of course the captain knew who he was, he didn’t get to be captain on looks alone.

Balian nodded, while he not specifically requested the Andorian in particular, it was a replacement for the rotation of his previous Chief Science Officer. That the man had been selected for a post like this was a good indication that he was a good officer overall. This was a wild west, high profile posting.
“Have a seat Lieutenant Loss, or Xeal more appropriate, I can never recall the correct order for Andorian naming conventions, my apologies. Can I get you anything from the replicator?”
