Shaking her teal-haired head, Faye moved over and sat in the proffered seat. “Nah, I’m okay. Too many meetings today. I’m Faye Calloway, by the way, the new data specialist.”

“I realize that you may not have been briefed on my arrival yet, since for whatever reason Command decided to delay the transfer orders, even though I’ve been en route for ages now. But you should know that I’m here as a mission specialist and I’ll reporting to the first officer. However, because of my role, I’ll mostly be under your domain and camped out on Deck Thirteen. But I’ll be liaising with Engineering and Operations, and sometimes even security as we go along on our mission.”

Xeal sat back down and took a sip of his frosted tea. “You are correct that I had not received word on your arrival. But as I had mentioned previously I have only just arrived myself and have not had the time to read through all the files that I was sent. However I am please that you are here it shows just how eager you are to be getting yourself going.” Xeal placed the tea on the table

“So what exactly do you specialize in?” He asked Calloway. The Deck 13 lab was no small lab.

Faye grinned. “Computer protection and infiltration.” Basically, she was a hacker. “I’ll be in charge of encryption and decryption protocols and any encounters with alien technology that interacts with our computer system. While we have protocols and programs in place, Starfeet is aware that even with the wormhole, we are more on our own out here and they though it best to have someone who could provide these skills directly on board. Plus, with all the scientific and cultural data we’ll accumulate, I can package it in tidier data packets back to Starfleet. Which is why I also have a higher security clearance than most scientists you’ll see assigned to the ship.”
