“Somehow I think you could handle it,” she said with a wicked gleam in her eyes as she kissed him back again, pressing her body up against his.

Pulling back, she shook her head. “Nope. We need to go now. I might be a lot of things but an exibitionist isn’t one of them.”

With perfect precision, Faye led them back through the arboretum (with a pause to put on her boots), through the station and to the hotel without feeling rushed and without getting lost. But as they came to stand in front of the lift, she couldn’t help pulling him in for another cheeky kiss, having the one idle thought that their dessert clearly wasn’t frozen.

Daggum kissed her and smiled at the same time, and then the doors opened to the lift and an older Bajoran couple almost bumped into them as they tried to get off. Dagumm pulled away from Faye briefly and said “‘Scuse us, folks. First date and all.” and he stepped aside so they could exit and then he almost pulled Faye into the lift after him. The woman looked at him and Faye and then to her companion. “Why don’t you kiss me like that?” she asked pointedly. He looked at Daggum and Faye and then shrugged. “Maybe if you dressed like that I would.” and the doors slid closed.

Faye snorted and grinned, letting her skirt flare out as she spun quickly to face the door.

As the lift began to move, Daggum pushed Faye gently against the wall and then kissed her, her cheek, her neck, and as far down her shoulder as he could and stay on skin. He then moved up and lightly bit her earlobe and then pulled away slightly and said “I’ll always kiss you like that, you know…”

His lips on her skin felt like they were igniting little sparks and the sensation moved across her skin with him. Heart rate increasing (along with the anticipation), her hand came to rest on his cheek and she smiled his smile, the one full of love and certainty. “A promise I’m going to hold you to,” she said before pulling him in for another kiss. As her body began to lead the discussion, her head was meanwhile reminding her to take care of certain things when they got to his room. There was no way she was letting anything ruin their perfect night. And it was. Because it was them. Regardless of any moments of unease or tension, it had been a perfect date. There was nothing she could ask for that she hadn’t already experienced, except for one thing to cap it all off and that had been a forgone conclusion back on the holodeck.

The doors opened and Daggum’s hand held them open for a moment as they held their kiss. He moved back a hand’s breadth and said “Um… we’re here.” and they stepped out into the hallway and walked down a bit, stopping directly between the doors to each of their rooms. Daggum, holding her hand, looked down at her and said “So my love… where to now? Keep in mind, your cake is in my room.” and he chuckled.
