“I jus-… well… this is hard for me to talk about… because it so unfamiliar to me… but… Faye, I d-…” and he shook his head and took a drink, frustration showing on his face.

Their emotions had been so intense for much of the day that it didn’t take much to invoke them again. She watched him, a sinking feeling settling into the pit of her stomach. “Dag…”

He took a breath and said “If you are ever somewhere and we have separated for a long time and someone… you know… ‘piqued your interest’… I’d want you tell me, Faye. Not that I wouldn’t be upset, because I would and I’d be jealous and thats an emotion I’ve never really had before for anyone… but I just want you to be happy, Faye. And if that means you find somebody and we are so far apart… I mean… part of me is saying ‘Its just sex, who cares?’… but I do, but I don’t have the right to tell you I don’t want you to… and part of that is I worry… I worry… that what we have won’t stand up to the time apart. And that scares me to my core, Faye.” and his emerald eyes started to shine, but not in a good way.

Daggum

Her eyes widened and her lips parted into an O. “Dag… oh, no. No, no,” she said shaking her head. Faye held up one hand, her fingers spread. “Six, Dag. Six people I’ve ever been with in my entire life. Only two of those were so-called casual and the first one only because a lot of alcohol was involved. The others? As much of a relationship as I would ever allow myself and even then I held so much of myself back that it could never have been anything true or special. And in the end they were all symptoms.” She leaned in closer to him, once again her hand coming to his face, cupping it. “You are not a symptom. You have been a part of the healing. Dag, I’m not looking and I don’t intend to. I’m not someone who seeks out comfort from people like that. It’s just not how I’m wired. I have you even when you’re not here. The mushroom house, remember?” she said feeling her own tears threatening to emerge.

Emerald eyes sparkled with golden tears, and he leaned into her hand. “Faye… I will not ever want another. No matter what comes… I am yours and yours alone. No one… anywhere… and no ‘Orion libido’ propaganda is going to change that. I am yours. Only. Now and always.” and he turned his face and kissed her hand.

Thumb stroking the top edge of his lip, Faye smiled and leaned in so she could whisper in his ear. “Good. Because ever since I got that very lovely show of all your lovely green skin, I’ve had some rather intense thoughts come to my head. So I’m pretty sure you are going to need your Orion libido, because I’ve had a whole month to imagine it, and imagine it, over… and over.” Faye pulled back to gaze in his eyes. “I have an excellent imagination, but I’m still quite certain it’s nothing compared to the real thing.”

Daggum shook his head and smiled. “Ms. Calloway, if I didn’t know better, I would say you were making a pass at me. Careful… its not too late to cancel one of the rooms.” and he laughed.
