Her mouth hungrily pressed into his and their tongues dancing, it was like every nerve of her body was alight. And she knew if they continued much longer, they would not be stopping. And she didn’t want to, but she knew it was better. They had done everything else backwards, she wanted this one thing to be special, to be imprinted into the fibre of her being.

Pulling back and pushing back the hand that cradled her head, she whispered, “Dag,” with all the meaning that could possibly be conveyed. “I need you to trust me… let me go.” Releasing his hold on her meant she’d fall, but she knew what she was doing.

He couldn’t speak, and her voice was muffled by the sound of the blood rushing in his ears, but he kissed her once more and then he, very slowly, let her go… but not before lowering her gently into the water.

She had been prepared to sink quickly but as the motion happened slower, she had more time to get her feet under her. Still, Faye intentional dropped into the water letting it cool her off… in more ways than one. She twisted and kicked off, swimming a couple metres before surfacing.

Daggumnwatched her slide through the water and stared longingly as she moved. A more beautiful woman he had never seen.

Turning back to him, Faye stood in her silver bathing suit and grinned running a hand over her long wet hair. “You owe me a date, Hammor. We’ve waited this long, we can wait a little longer. So I’m going to do us both a favour and head back to my room. 1850 hours, I’ll be outside my door, ready for dinner. Don’t be late.” And with that she turned and moved through the water with intentional and quick strides, heading to the beach,

“Oh, I won’t be. I’ve waited for this for over year!” he called back to her with a smile.

But Faye turned back again. “Wait, what’s the dress code for dinner?”

Daggum dropped into the water and then resurfaced. Wiping the water from his face, he smiled.

“Formal, of course. Tonight is our first date as a couple. It should be celebrated as such.”

Daggum

She grinned widely. “I’m looking forward to it. But Dag, just so you know, it’s my first date ever. But because it’s with you I’m no longer nervous about it.” Later she’d tell him about her frantic spiralling over the realization and Alex having to calm her down and walk her through First Date 101. She was certain Dag would find it funny. She did too… now. But more importantly was the fact that Alex was right. Having done everything backwards and all mixed up, this night was special because it was them and it was their night. It was special already.

Disappearing into the beach hut, Faye changed back into her yoga wear and quickly left the beach, stealing a glance at Dag as she did, but making very sure to keep going. No temptations. The grin as she remembered that kiss, though? Quite possibly permanently plastered.

Daggum watched her leave and then floated on his back for a while, easing himself back into relaxation. He stood up and said “Computer, lock door. End program.” Immediately he was dry and standing next to the clothes he had discarded. He dressed, picked up the bag, and walked out of the holosuite and towards the lift to his room.

Black slacks, grey sleeveless turtleneck sweater and a brown suede vest. It was her casual off-duty’ uniform’ and it made her innocuous looking. Shara leaned against the wall, with the left sole of her low heeled duty boot against the wall, arms crossed, highly toned muscles showing. Her dark hair pulled back off her face let her gaze rather openly with her sharp grey-blue eyes as she tracked the target. Well, she supposed that was putting it too strongly. But she was tracking him.

If there was anything Shara Calloway was an expert at, it was hiding in plain sight when she wanted to and conversely allowing herself to be noticed. She waited until she caught a glimpse of him, the vibrant green skin only second to his height and frame, before she shifted from ‘you can’t see me’ to ‘I am here.’ Her eyes followed every movement and if she hadn’t flipped the switch, he probably would have walked right past her. Shara said nothing, but when he did look (and she know he eventually would), she was so much like Faye. It wasn’t a stretch to see the shape of her mouth and eyes in Faye’s and they shared the same calculating pale eyes, even if they were tinted different colours.
