His lips were warm and Faye thought she’d never stop loving the feeling of them. “Well, Alex did point out rather bluntly that I do many things backwards and you and I have tossed the whole pattern of normal relationship development out the airlock.” Faye grinned. “I think meeting my mom is not the scary usual step it might otherwise be, even if it is Shara Calloway,” she said with raised eyebrows.
“I’m not scared… even though I should be form what you’ve said.” and he chuckled and kissed her again.
Yeah, that will be something, Faye mused to herself as she pulled back and gazed at Daggum. But if anyone could gaze Shara in the eyes and tell them they loved her daughter and not flinch (entirely), it was Dag. She was sure of it.
Alright, let’s go before I cave and take Tess with us,” Faye said with a laugh.

“Ok, let’s.” the green behemoth said and reached over and scratched Tess’s ears. “See you soon, little girl.” and he looked at Faye. “Shall we?”
Daggum
Faye nodded and slipped her hand into his, leading him out of the bedroom. Later, not now, she would explain what triggered her ‘episode’, but it didn’t matter right now. As they navigated this newness between them there were going to surely be bumps. Hell, maybe mountains. But Faye’s fear about tackling all of it was lessening minute by minute. After a brief check of her quarters and refilling Tess’ water bowl, Faye nodded. “Okay, all good.”
Walking hand-in-hand through the corridors, it was a turbolift ride down to docking access. When they finally reached the deck, the doors slipped open and Faye stepped out with Dag, her hand still firmly in his. And of course, there was Alex.
“Busted!” she declared, a grin slipping on to her face. “Good thing I wasn’t like trying to actually sneak aboard,” Faye added.

Alex looked at Faye, then up at Daggum. “Lieutenant. And I am guessing this is Lieutenant Commander Hammor. Commander, Captain Alexander Cochrane.” and held out his hand.
Daggum took the hand and said “Captain. A pleasure. Faye has spoken very highly of you, sir.” “And you, Commander.” Alex replied and shook his hand twice and then let it go. “So I’m guessing this is a social visit, hmm?” and then he smiled.
Faye looked between the two men. I could be rather awkward to have the man you used to have a crush on and was now your best friend meeting the man you were in love with an embarking on a long -distance relationship that defied definition. “Just had to grab something from my quarters but that meant we got to check on Tess.”
“Lieutenant. Lieutenant Commander. Go. Enjoy yourselves. Thats an order.” and he stepped around Daggum and to the lift. Before he stepped in, he turned back.
“That’s the plan,” Faye said, giving Alex a cheeky slaute.
“I suppose I should make some declaration like ‘Hurt her and I’ll kill you.’ or some such. But I think we are all a bit past that.” and the doors opened and he stepped inside. “But if you hurt her, a lot of people will.” and the doors slid closed.
“Nice to see you, Alex,” Faye said with a grin.
Daggum looked at the door and blinked. He then looked at Faye. “Um… is he always that intense?”
Daggum
“Only on Mondays,” Faye deadpanned before her expression shifted. “I think it goes without saying that he’s a part of my chosen family. I don’t have a lot of family Dag, but what I do have is decidedly protective.” She gave him a wink. “I think that means you’re in.”
Walking backwards towards the docking port, held out a hand to him, all but craving the feeling of their fingers entwined. “Come on, yoga awaits us.”
