Faye’s grin widened. “Now that is an excellent idea and feels like fair payment. But only if it’s really good chocolate,” she said, shifting to mock seriousness.

“Oh, I would never serve you anything but really good chocolate,” Kiama laughed warmly.

Digging into the curry and making sure to scoop some rice along with it, Faye popped the forkful into her mouth, chewing thoughtfully. “Mmmm, yum! Well done us!” she said with alight laugh.

“Yes, we really did a great job,” Kiama nodded in agreement as she tore of a piece of naan and dipped it into the raita. “I think it also makes a difference that there are real vegetables and all in it and not replicated ones.”

Popping the piece of naan into her mouth, Kiama was silent for a moment before she asked, “So tell me, you and Lieutenant Wyatt?” Her curiosity was probably obvious on her dark features, but not wantign to pry she left it at that so that Faye could tell her as little or as much as she wanted to.

Faye rolled her eyes slightly and brought her hand to her mouth, tapping her fist to her lips a couple times. “It’s… not serious. Honestly I’m surprised it even happened, but there’s been all their weird tension between us that hasn’t always been antagonistic and I guess I needed to know what was there, if it was just all in my head or not.” She shrugged and dug back into her curry. “I just have too much going on to think about anything serious. Timing kind of sucks.”
