She actually allowed herself a quiet moment to really think that through. Finally, she shook her head knowing that there would be another day and there was nothing pressing. She already had a lot to think about, and guaranteed she would be thinking hard over it all. “Umm, not really, but in case you’re interested, I’m creating a garden, with help of course. It’s in the flex science space on Deck Four. It’s not done yet but we’re about to start planting it up soon, and”-she half shrugged-“you’re more than welcome to help if you like. If you like that sort of thing.”

It was a peace offering—a circlet of olive branches, showing that Faye was accepting Zef’s presence in her life—for the moment. It was an important step in the process of Faye becoming more open to people. Zef smiled at the invitation. “I’ve actually never gardened before, but the thought of sinking my hands into fresh dirt does hold a surprising appeal to me.” It was something to think about but she was careful not to make a promise she might not keep. “Thank you for the invitation, Faye. I’ll give it some thought.”

Calloway nodded. She hadn’t expected anything more than that.
With Rinker it had been a relatively easy thing to know when their sessions were over, or rather if she could just leave without saying anything else. With Commander Kejsdel at Starfleet Intelligence whom had evaluated her before she was formally sent to the Manhattan things had been exceptionally blunt (much to Faye’s relief). But here she hesitated as she rose to her feet, despite Rollo having already saying she’d see her in three days. That was generally a polite dismissal, but these things could be tricky and Faye was still figuring out this counsellor.
Still, instinct told her she wouldn’t get chewed out here and Rollo wasn’t here to trick her, so Faye headed for the door. Three days. In her experience, a lot could happen in three days.
