Cochrane pulled up the brig report. Calloway had had a few visitors. That was good in Alex’s mind. It meant people weren’t quick to judge.Waiting for a break in the social calendar, he made his way to the brig. As he entered, NE Bloom looked surprised and said “Uh, Captain? I’m sorry sir. No one told me to expect you.” and before he could stammer off anything else, Cochrane waved him silent. “Perk of the job, Ensign. I can go wherever I want anytime.” He leaned in conspiratorially and stage- whispered “I dont even have to ask.” and he smiled and winked. He looked through the force field at Faye’s prone form. He was quiet a moment and then said “I’d like to speak with the prisoner. Privately. Step outside for a moment.” and the young Ensign simply nodded and did as ordered.
Though she might be mistaken for sleeping, Faye had been doing very little of that so far and she didn’t expect that to change while she was in the cell. After her bout of nightmares she didn’t dare let herself sleep anyway.
Alex walked up to the force field and stared for a moment before saying “For a spy, you sure have a lot of people wanting to talk with you, Lieutenant.”

Legs outstretched and feet crossed at the ankles, Faye was gazing up at the ceiling. Except that it wasn’t a ceiling. It was a night sky littered with stars. Crickets chirped from the surrounding bushes as the moonlight cast a soft glow over the lake. She couldn’t see the lake, of course, but she could hear the water lapping against the shore not too far from where she lay.
She had heard him speaking to the guard of course, but she didn’t look in his direction. While all this had been the plan, there was a part of her that hated him seeing her like this, even for a moment. As if it broke the illusion he had painted for her about future possibilities. A part of Faye understood that she had lost something when she had had to hand over her uniform and that had brought her lower than she expected to fall. And here he was to witness it. Humbling? Humiliating? Some mix of the two most likely.
At last, Calloway turned her head, a slightly amused smirk attempting to hide the deep fatigue and hollowness that was slowly creeping its way through her. “And that’s not even counting the ones that reached out to me while I was on the run. Rebels. I think I’ve found my people. Only taken twenty some odd years.” She didn’t add the thought about how it was too bad it wouldn’t last, because she wasn’t entirely sure that was the case. it was all so muddled right now, and certainly her head felt that way.

Cochrane looked at her without expression and said flatly “Unfortunately for them, they will be charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive.” and he put a finger to his lips and pointed at the ceiling. Of course the audio would be recording.
“So. I have reviewed word that someone from the Event Horizon is on their way to see you. Some Intel officer you may be familiar with. They will be here in two days. In the meantime… is there anything you wish to say? Please note, your formal statement with regards to the charge of espionage will be taken in a few hours by myself and Lieutenant Wyatt. I jusr wanted to know if there was anything you wanted to say before then.” Cochrane crossded his arms on his chest but the thumb on his left hand, resting on his right bicep, wiggled. From her position, it appeared there was something on the back of his hand, but hard to see from across the cell.
