(snip)Adeline resisted the urge to gnaw on her lip this time. “Triage and treat as you go, but your priority is to get to the bridge and make sure that the Captain is okay. You can split up as needed to make that happen, but make sure that no one is alone with communication systems down.”

“Yes doctor,” said the nurse. 3 medical kits were prepared. Nurse Okami sighed, it was a long way up to the Bridge. It was a little more than half of the staff available, but being that the Brazen was a small ship, and out of the 12 medical personnel, only 5 were not injured. Only a medic and a nurse would be sent to the other decks. Ensign Shoshawnia would be sent to Deck 7 to check for injured quickly then help out on Deck 4 in Engineering. Ensign Clancey would be sent to Deck 3, to establish a makeshift medical station in one of the Cargo Bays, and Nurse Okami would head straight for the Bridge.

As the various medical personnel scattered, Adeline turned to survey Sickbay with a sigh. Planning to get medical care to the various parts of the ship had taken what little she had left in her after tiring shifts doing physicals and then two nasty spills. She pressed into her eyes with the heels of her hands for a moment, trying to push the exhaustion aside and tackle what she could. Grabbing a nearby nurse now that Okami had headed off, she queried, “let’s get triage started here. Have you seen anyone who needs immediate medical attention?”

Nurse Mendoza turned to Dr. McGill, “Well, Dr. Grace is still unconscious. The worse injury is Ensign Pierre. He was brought here from the computer core. Severe second degree burns caused by electrical damage and damage to his internal organs. Dr. Coldwater is working on him now, but Dr. Coldwater doesn’t look too well. The rest of the injuries are minor scraps and bruises, Dr. McGill.”

Adeline nodded tiredly and reflexively pushed her lab coat and uniform sleeves up to her mid-forearms as she made her way over to where Coldwater was working on Pierre. It sounded like Pierre was the known entity here, his treatment plan prescribed by his injuries, but that Coldwater had something going on that was unknown. On her way to the biobed, she grabbed a medical tricorder and glanced at it quickly to make sure that it appeared to be relatively intact after the impact or whatever had caused such disarray.
Approaching the duo, she quietly asked Coldwater, “what’s your patient’s status? Is there anything I can do to help?” As she waited for his response, she discreetly ran the medical tricorder’s probe over him, seeing if there was any immediately pertinent information she could use to discern what was going on with the doctor. Without information to the contrary, she wasn’t going to interfere with his treatment of his patient.
