Both the Operations and Helms NE were in a panic. “Thrusters are not responding. Limited atmosphere manuevering is available,” said the Ops NE.“We’re coming in too fast!” said the Helms NE.
Idari sighed at the statement of the obvious. The Brazen-class vessel was designed for atmospheric entry, but anyone who could witness the situation knew that anything besides a controlled descent was, as the NE at the Helm station put it, “too fast”. On the other hand, as the vessel could reach the surface in less than 180 Earth seconds, the most that would need to happen for the Asimov to survive in relatively one piece was a slight reduction in speed.
As they entered the planet’s atmosphere, the Helms NE tried to adjust the ship’s entry. Unluckily, the ship got struck by a bolt of lightning. The shields was reduced down to 7%, and more electrical systems across the ship got damaged. All but one fusion generator was working now.
“Captain, we’re coming in hot!” said the helms NE, “30 seconds to impact.”
Zen hit the ship channel . =^= All hands brace for impact. Repeat all hands brace for impact!=^= so much for three days.
A tractor beam was detected against their ship, but it only operated for 3 seconds. It had adjusted the ship’s trajectory and had slowed the ship down slightly. The Ops officer was able to see that it came from a Ferengi scout ship, that had crashed, as it was stuck in a downward position, but strangely, had a tractor emitter at the back of its ship.
Meanwhile, as he was looking directly out of the view screen, Idari was able to notice the slight change to their angle of descent. He started doing the math on his handheld device to see if the change had helped. He ran out of time before he could get the result.
The ship crashed, and all of the crew were knocked unconscious.

The sound of a ship crashing was something Zen had experienced three times in his starfleet career. Every time it was exactly the same. Almost far away. Fast paced and dimly lit as though a filter lens was filming it and showing it on a holo projector. People trying to do their jobs, pale and shaky no matter how much training they had. Then everything just sort of stopped. Not like in old movies where everything goes into slow motion and dramatic music plays. It was like being frozen in a millisecond of time with nothing moving but your mind and your eyes.
He could hear himself breathing, his heart thundering and the blood pumping through his body. Then on the moment of impact, time started again. Just for a second. Your body was thrown but it didn’t matter because At the moment you realised what had happened it all went black.
10 minutes had past, and the stronger crew members and the not as heavily injured crew members awoke.
Owing mostly to his Cardassian and Vulcan ancestry, Solit was one of the first to regain consciousness. His first thought was, The fact that I was aware of the possibility of doing medical work did not mean that I actually wanted to do any. He checked himself for any severe injuries or uniform damage - exposed sensitive areas would not be helpful - and then absent-mindedly ran his fingers on his right neck ridge as a pain management technique.
Solit found he had a strong sharp pain in his arm. His personal assessment would suggest it was broken, based on the pain level. A second sharp pain arose from his ribs.
Some time later, Zen became aware his eyes were open. He lay on his side feeling numb. A sticky sensation at his head told him there was blood and his sense of smell corroborated this. For a moment he was confused as to why he way on the floor before it came back to him. Ahh…the ship, we crashed the new ship.* He had no idea how long passed after that thought as he lay and stared. Eventually he remember how to sit up and did so and sat, Looking around the bridge.
Eventually he had enough sense to pull himself up to his chair and try to access the internal sensors to get an idea of the damage.
Kaida
XOThe consoles wouldn’t power on. So much for internal sensors.
The ship was on emergency life support and power was running at a bare minimum. The consoles were all inoperative now. The comm system was also down. Any data that was recorded, would not be obtainable until some power was restored… and anyone who managed to gleam information in the short time period or acted quickly would have been able to remember possible important details about the anomaly and/or the planet.
GM
Zen swore under his breath and pulled himself shakily up. He pulled his shirt straight and looked around the bridge. “Anyone not dead.” He said outloud and moved to find Natalie.
Kaida
XO
A sudden rush of pain came from Kaida’s ankle… it was twisted, but fortunately not broken.
A groan came from the Operations officer followed by the Helmsperson.
Natalie was on the floor next to the Captain’s seat, looking very dazed as she struggled to sit up, holding her arm close to her as she touched her comm badge =^=All Departments report in.=^= She ordered and looked up at Zen “What in the hell just happened?” She asked slowing getting to her feet and wincing as she moved. Looking around the bridge she looked for the CSO to get some scans or an idea of where they were.
CO
Natalie found her comm-badge inoperative.
“We crashed into a planet, Captain, after being sucked into an unknown anomaly,” replied the Operations officer.
GM
Natalie would also have found to be injured, fortunately with some minor cuts and heavy bruising. And a sharp pain from her shoulder. The helmswoman was bleeding from her head. It was a minor gash. As for the Operations officer, he was bleeding from his right shoulder… which had been dislocated in the crash.
And oxygen and hydrogen combine to make both an ingestible fluid and a toxic fluid, Solit thought but did not say.
“I recorded some data on my personal device,” Idari volunteered as he got up from his station. “I have no idea how much use it will be; according to the speed that the ship recorded, we only traveled roughly half a light year, but we have clearly come farther than that.”
