The crew of the Asimov had been given several days of rest and relaxation on the starbase upon their rescue and transport there. Soon, though, a communication chirped across each crew member’s comm badge:

=/\= Crew of the USS Asimov, report to Briefing Room One. =/\=

Rebecca was in the closet bar when the call cam.t was her natural habitat when she wasn’t on a mission or on a ship. She didn’t really feel anything for the ship, she hadn’t long joined before it’s destruction. She couldn’t get why people where so upset they where literally building a new Asimov. However the admiral that cased it, she had a special place on Her list, her and the incompetent fools in high command who couldn’t figure out she was a bad one.

Rebecca drained her glass, threw the payment on the table and headed for the conference room. She arrived in short order, went in and wanted for the others.

Lieut Lane (Intelligence)

Lucas walked in, addressing no one until he sat. After his stray transmission, he figured his career had ended anyway. He had violated the chain of command in about 10 different ways. His psychological analysis of the Admiral was likely only worth so much.

Natalie had already been anticipating this meeting and was already there when the rest of her crew had arrived. She was in her dress uniform and was clearly not happy about the events. She had, fortunately or unfortunately, isolated herself from her crew. She had spent the majority of her down time, researching the Admiral, looking for anything that might give her something to work with. She was behind the entire mess with the attacks, but Natalie had not been able to find anything yet.

She nodded to each of her crew as they entered the conference room. She was indeed grateful that the entire crew had been unharmed, which caused her to wonder why the Admiral had destroyed the other ships and killed the crew.

Jonathan slipped into the room and found a seat near the back. He hoped he wasn’t going to be called to give evidence at whatever this was. He really didn’t know anything about the ship’s mission, he’d just showed up for his shift when everything went to Hell.

OOC: Feel free to continue posting arrivals if that’s your jam, but otherwise, I’m going to move this along.

As the crew of the Asimov got settled, or what was left of it, a young, female officer walked in wearing the pips of a commodore. She glanced across the assembled faces as she made her way to the front of the room.

Silently, as was his thing, Zen slipped into the room, his expression stoic. He had his tinted glasses on. the lights on Starbase always gave him migraines. He stood waiting for the female officer to reach the front.

“Although I’m sure you may have expected this, I’m sorry to inform you that the Asimov has been deemed unrecoverable by Starfleet. Much of the crew has been transferred to other positions within Starfleet. You are the remaining crew members without new assignments.” She paused for a moment to allow the words to sink in across the room. “A new USS Asimov in the Brazen class will be commissioned shortly and you will be returned to your previous postings on the new ship. Starfleet will redirect new personnel to fill in any vacancies. Any questions so far?”

Unlike some senior officers, her question seemed to be genuine as she made eye contact with several individuals around the room.

In his head he wanted to know what they were to do with the renegade admiral and if any sort of apology would be forth coming from fleet command. However what he said instead was nothing. Just stood waiting.

‘Brazen-class?’ Jonathan thought, wracking his brain before finally recalling the class in question. ‘Small, decently armed, Defiant-style destroyer. Well, that could be interesting. New build too, so no telling how many faults we’ll run into and have to fix that the yards botched. Still, a lot less likely to have something go wrong than a refit ship that was new when my grandfather was starting his career.’

He’d have to look up the specs once they were dismissed.

“This might seem a tad dense,” Lucas said “what the bloody hell happened to the Admiral who tried to kill us? I mean, thanks for the new ship. But if someone can self destruct us at will…”
