NE Griffin was sitting at the computer and was digging through the computer system trying to find what he could about the recent attacks. Griffin couldn’t grasp why Star Fleet would be attacking their allies and didn’t believe for a moment that it was the Federation. He was reaching out to the contacts that they had in the various planets that might have information.

NE Griffin

Rebbeca was working at her terminal when she spied the troubled NE. she had been waiting to hear back form her friend the leader of a very large and well funded mercenary group. they where good at getting answer, After all Rebecca had trained him. She got up and walked over to him “What are you up to?” she asked before looking at the screen. “Who told you to do this?” she asked “It doesn’t matter official channels won’t work. You want to find out whats going on. You have to do thinks under the table. you should look into Mercs” she added.

Lieut Lane (Intelligence)

Griffin looked up suddenly “Umm…I thought the Captain had directed us to do this?” He said stammering “But..we’re supposed to be above board. I don’t know any mercs or ....anyone for that matter. I’m just a computer geek…I hack into things.” He said

NE Griffin

Rebecca laughed softly and coldly “Sorry to disappoint you kid. Above board and star fleet intelligence don’t belong together. Not any more at least.” she said simply. It was funny that people still believed star fleet and star fleet intelligence, where untouched beacons of good. She knew the harsh truth, they weren’t, nothing in star fleet was an untouched beacon of good.

“so you’re a hacker? that’s useful. However if you want to be a good intelligence officer you need to build contacts. they will be far more useful then a computer” she said as she took something off from around her neck. she held it up it was a small storage device “You see this.i am the only one who can access it. On here is enough information to collapse the whole federation and a few other governments. This was gained form informants as well as computers. Start thinking outside the box and making connection. that’s how you get results.” she added.

Griffin looked at Lane “Ok, I think that I get it, but we need to find out some of the information so that we can get something started on this investigation.” He said “I don’t want to disappoint the Captain or the Chief.”

NE Griffin

“Don’t worry he’s section 31 I’m sure he’s used to disappointment. He’s probably disappointed in himself.” Rebecca said simply.

“What have you got. I’m waiting to hear back from some of my contacts. Even f this is sanctioned by the federation or someone is posing as star fleet officers, which is really easy to do. I’ve done it. My contacts should know. However it’s taking a lot longer hen it normally does too get through to them.” she said looking at the NE waiting for his answer.

Griffin looked at Lane “Could whatever is going on be blocking your contact with your people.” He asked “What if this is a lot higher up than we anticipated or know.”

NE Griffin

Rebecca nodded “Now you’re getting it kid. I’ve been thinking about that form the start. If they are blocking our communication then whoever it is, is really fricking connected. They probably only want us to fins what they want us to find. Like hell i’m letting that happen.” she said simply. she was getting annoyed whoever this was thought they where cleaver and Rebecca hoped she could prove them wrong and maybe put a bullet in their brains as a bonus.

“we might have to do this the old fashioned way, and go off the reservation” she added after a short pause.

Griffin looked at Lane “What does that mean?” He asked “We’re going to start talking to people or just start digging?” He asked “Did the Captain say anything about what Command thinks of this situation?”

NE Griffin

“We go to the source. That pencil neck commander. I’ve got all kinds of people to talk and he shouldn’t be that much of a problem.” Rebecca said her voice cold and dangerous.

“As for what command thinks i haven’t been read into it. However through a couple of means. I’ve found out the admiralty want him thrown in the brig for treason.” she said simply “In other words a traitor is leading us on a merry dance. So i don’t think the captain will mind me having a little ‘chat’ with him” she said as she headed for the door “if she does have reservations. Hopefully she can be convinced. otherwise i’m not sure what we can do, with our communications apparently jammed and hardly anything else to go on. It’s our only option for now. Keep working here though I’ll be back sooner or later” she said she then stopped at the door

“Do you have nay other ideas, or questions?” she asked.
