Persephone followed Vock to the lisut then led him to his quarters. She was fairly silent till they rounded the last corner before his room. “Are you really ok? You were unconscious for some time, with a pretty nasty head injury. I may not be a doctor, but I know that can’t be something you shrug off.”

There was genuine concern in her voice as she kept her eyes straight ahead, not looking at him. Something about him unsettled her and she wasn’t sure what it was.

“I appreciate your concern, Lieutenant. My injuries are mostly superficial, and my unconscious state was a result more of oxygen deprivation than the impact. My species is very resilient with regards to trauma, as I am sure are aware from your studies.” and he stopped and paused as they walked. He looked at her and said “Unless I am mistaken in my belief that xenobiology is a broad topic of smthe Science Section at the Academy?” His question was not anything other than inquisitive. If it wasnt for the bandages on his hands and the state of his uniform, one would be hard pressed to see the CMO as injured; his speech was direct and straightforward, with no hint of anything other than a curiosity about the Academy Science curriculum, of all things.

Natalie was in her office going over daily reports, sipping a cup of tea as she waited for her new CMO to show up so that they could discuss what exactly had happened. She was getting edgy, something wasn’t sitting right with her. She stood and watched as the stars passed feeling the thrum of the warp core under her feet.
