A New Strategy: Facing the Counselor

T’Mor moved with purpose down the corridor to the counselor. Hopefully it would be brief, as the medical check in was. She had transferred many times and had gone through this same procedure each time. The Earth saying came to mind, “familiarity breeds contempt”.

So, rather than being nervous around the concept of the counselor, as she was as an Ensign, T’Mor had planned a different approach. Brief, direct, and only discussing what was already on record. That way, she could avoid unfortunate instances like her first check in on the Ark Angel.

So, she took a deep breath, rang the chime, and waited for her call to enter and face the counselor.

“Come on in,” Paddy’s voice called from the other side of the door. As the doors parted, the Counselor sat at his office desk, scanning through internal ship’s messages, a midly haggered look on his face that brightened when he saw the young Science Officer, “Ahh, how’re ye T’Mor, what can I do for you?”

-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counselor-

T’Mor stood straight up, hands clasped behind her back. She had practiced. Calm, confident. It’s what she wanted to show him.

“Hello Counselor. I believe I am overdue for my initial psychological exam.”

She looked around the office a bit before entering. Looking for things that seemed interesting to talk about— artwork, botanicals, anything she could use to change the subject if things became too personal. Part of the new strategy.
