Adrian looked around a bit uncertainly, he had been left up here by himself to give the update. He held out his datapad with the search results as well as the autopsies.
“Uh, Commander. These are the search results from the autopsy and subsequent records search. We ran into, I believe humans call it, ‘a brick wall’, when we tried to find out the connection between the FedSec agent and this circus performer. The file is sealed. We thought it was prudent to come and inform you and the Captain of our findings. There is also a missing ring, though there is no evidence that it has any bearing but it is odd.”~Dr. Adrian Sorel
Shara skimmed the info. “Hmm, well at least one these I can definitely help with,” she said, tapping her commbadge. =/\=Bridge to Agent Pikelsimer. We need you up here.=/\= She didn’t call him as herself, since this wasn’t a husband and wife situation, but a professional one.
~Shara Calloway, XO
=/\= On my way. =/\= came the expected terse response. A few minutes later, the turbolift doors and the former-Marine-turned-FedSec Agent strode onto the bridge. He looked around and then walked up to the XO. “You rang?” he said with a grin, and then crossed his one flesh and one metal arm on his chest.
Pikelsimer, FedSec Senior Agent
Adrian looked over the Fed Sec Agent over curiously as he tried to remain in the background so he wouldn’t be sent off and could maybe hear what was going to happen next. He certainly would like to be more involved in movement on the case.
~Dr. Adrian Sorel
Shara moved back over to where the info was and gestured with a flourish. “We’re getting somewhere, but we’re blocked. However, we just happen to have the right sort of person to unblock our progress, so I’m hoping you’re willing to to at least look at the sealed file and tell us if there is anything useful.” Shara held up a finger. “Though I am aware that if you do so, that might tip our hand. So we should perhaps pro/con the idea.”
~Shara Calloway, XO
Pikelsimer nodded and walked over to the display. He looked at the file encryption and designation, and then said “It’s an operational report file for a currently open case. Only people that can review it are the Operations Director, assigned analyst or analysts, a FedSec Senior Agent… of which there are only five hundred at any time, and most of them are rather busy… and the Director of FedSec herself. And after the previous hullabaloo with security breaches and convert agents in the Intel arenas, I can say that these things are kept really secure. So my personal take? We can open it without anyone outside of those few being the wiser. But that’s just my opinion, a’course. I’m just here to assist y’all as needed.”
Pikelsimer, FedSec Senior Agent
Shara drew in a breath and nodded. “Well, your opinion has value, so I think it’s worth the potential risk. Right now we have a whole lots of puzzle pieces but not a lot to tie things together. We need more pieces right now.” She gestured to the console. “So, by all means, do what you can.”
~Shara Calloway, XO
Pikelsimer nodded and opened the file, looking at it privately for a few minutes. Finally he nodded and put it on the main viewer.
“FedSec is investigating a series of murders and thefts. Antiquities, mostly human and mostly late 19th and early 20th century.” he said. “All told so far they have forty-five thefts and sixteen murders seemingly linked to some of them. The deceased Agent had filed this report two days before he was killed. He had word from a CI that one of the stolen items, a Fabergé egg, was being moved via a traveling circus.”
GM
Shara snapped her fingers and pointed. “The strong man whose DNA was found during the first murder. So this circus is a either a front for stolen goods, or someone within it is using them as a cover. What do we know about this circus? Let’s trace the movements to see if there is a pattern to where they perform. And the strong man, Casperian, do you think it’s safe for me to dig in the Intelligence database for info on him? Or should we stick to more covert searches?”
~Shara Calloway, XO
Adrian’s brow arched but he felt a sense of intellectual satisfaction at having some questions answered as he stood quietly near by.
~Dr. Adrian Sorel
The travel pattern of the circus did not stand out in anyway. Even cross-referencing the odd outliers in the travel patterns led to corporate or private bookings. In fact, nothing seemed odd at all… until about two years previously. By overlaying the location of the thefts being investigated by FedSec and the travel plans of the circus, it seemed that the circus was in the same or a nearby vicinity when the thefts occurred.
Looking into the strongman, Casperian, led to some confusion as to his potential involvement in what was happening. He had been with the circus almost his entire life; starting at age three when his grandfather was Ringmaster. He had to criminal record, no financial windfalls, and was by all accounts a well respected and lauded member of the community. He had even been cited by several local governments for his assistance and compassion helping with community projects that were going on when the circus was nearby; and he had once stopped a fleeing criminal who was being chased by local police.
GM
Adrian read the information on the screen, “Perhaps this strong man is a dupe? For someone else in the circus?” He pondered out loud.
~Dr. Adrian Sorel
She nodded slowly. “Possibly. Or could be that he’s being coerced into doing this for some reason. Or is working with someone else for a reason we can’t quite pull ut yet.” Shara blew out a breath. “Computer, run a search for any flagged files of those connected to Casperian, including family and coworkers, currently or in the past.” It was a general enough search but had enough parameters to hopefully catch random details that might otherwise slip through the cracks.

=^=Cmdr. Calloway, the is Lt. Black Wolf, could you meet me in the SCC? I keep running into dead ends in my investigation. I could probably use a fresh set of eyes to look over everything I’ve gathered, which isn’t much.=^=
Lieutenant Kohana Black Wolf
Chief Intelligence Officer/Helm USS Asimov=/\=Understood. I’m on my way. Calloway out.=/\=
She blew out a breath and gestured to Micah and Adrian Sorel. “Doctor, I know it’s not quite your expertise but your findings so far got us here, so keep going and help Agent Pikelsimer.” She raised a brow at Micah, knowing her running about the ship today was simply inevitable and he had the access to records that Sorel did not. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
And with that, the XO moved swiftly off the bridge.
~Shara Calloway, XO
Adrian’s young face brightened, his eyes perking up though his face remained stoic, it was apparent to an astute observer. “Aye Ma’am.” He said succinctly as he looked back to Pikelsimer.”
