Varen sat at his desk looking through the days reports, most of the general experiments that his team was running were just getting started. He went through made some notes on each and the signed of on what they needed to complete their work. He sat reading a recent article on gravity effects from trinary stars and how they impact subspace, it was a fascinating piece.

Along his regular patrol route, Mwezi stepped into the Science Labs, glancing around to make sure everything was good. The security officer gave a cordial wave towards the science chief, nodding his head in a friendly manner. “Everything good in here?”

Varen looked about from his work, smiled warmly, “Well I guess that depends on your definition of alright is.” he set the padd down with a light toss. “Apparently I have to rework calculation for micro gravitational forces on light shift from” he then stopped as he realized he was over explaining and wasting the ensign’s time. “Everything is fine here Ensign, is there anything I can help you with??”

Mwezi nodded along, fully aware he had little context for the technobabble. “Just doing my routine patrol, Lt,” he replied with a friendly - or as friendly as a face with so many teeth could get - smile. “Science things giving you problems, I see. If you’re in need of an assistant, you should talk to my fiancée, she is looking for things to do onboard the Asimov, and, well. I might not know much about microgravitational forces or light shifts, but she probably does. Brilliant scientist. She’s not Starfleet though, so nothing classified.”

He smiled warmly “I’m sure I could find something for her to do, or give her some lab space maybe” he said. “Tell her she’s welcome to swing by” he noted.
