Sara often ate in her private dining room rather than her quarters, if only to justify the existence of the space. One evening she hadn’t even eaten, she just sat at the table watching the stars go by. Things kept changing. Her life was complicated by being in command and yet further by the mission profile of her ship. But she couldn’t have… a life. She didn’t know many people who had lives. =/\=Shara, have you had dinner yet?=/\= Maybe her XO knew something she didn’t.

A snort sounded over the comm. =/\=Three guesses and the first two don’t count.=/\= A pause as a couple quiet chirps could be heard. =/\=You proposing something? I should eat something and I told Micah I would done quite late.=/\=

=/\=Deck 6. Don’t keep your boss waiting.=/\= Sara enjoyed how she and Shara talked. It seemed wise to have picked an XO from people she already knew and trusted. She settled into her chair and considered some synthehol.

Sure enough, five minutes almost on the dot, Calloway stepped into the dining room without any preamble, look a little tired, but overall well. “What have you in mind for dinner? I keep forgetting I don’t ahve to go catch my own dinner here and that I could have anything,” she said, all but flopping into a chair at the table.
