Lisa paced around Engineering trying to put off her medical check in. She knew that she needed to complete her medical checks to be passed for onboarding but was reluctant to do so. She’d had bad experiences from Doctors in the past. When her mother became unwell they spent months trying to work out what was wrong with her, poking and prodding. It was just so.... intense and nerve wracking. She shivered in anticipation as it became time to leave her station. She sighed as she downed tools and made her way over to Sickbay.

She got to the main door of Engineering when… *Did you check your tools? What happens when you don’t check.

“The warpcore explodes.” She said aloud and went back to check. They were all there. She then left for Sickbay. She made it almost to the turbo lift when....

“The warpcore explodes.” She turned, headed back to Engineering. The tools were right where she left them. Sighing with frustration she left again. This time she made it to Sickbay when…

“The warpcore explodes.” She screamed inwardly, turned, headed back to Engineering. The tools were right where she left them. Growling with frustration, to the curiosity of her colleagues, she left again.

Lisa finally made it to Sickbay and looked around for a Doctor.
“Hello? I’m here for my check in exam.” She said to no one in particular.

Adrian was calmly working on crew files when the young engineer entered. He looked up at her call and nodded while tapping the data pad he was currently working with to pause his crew file reviews.

He stepped forward to catch her attention, “Excellent. I am Dr. Sorel, if you will follow me I can complete your examination.”
The young Vulcan doctor said as he indicated a nearby biobed.
“Have a seat here. Can I get your name so I can pull up your medical file, Lt?”

Lisa nodded to the Doctor and followed.
“Thank you Doctor Sorel. Of course, it’s Lisa Caldwell.” Lisa replied as she hopped up into the biobed.

Opening the file Sorel wouldn’t notice anything out of place, except some investigations for mania when she was a teenager but all came up clear. Her family records showed no medical conditions everything was crystal clear.

Adrian studied her file for a moment before tapping the controls on the biobed to start a general full body scan.

“Any medical conditions or medications not on file that I should be aware of, Lt.?” He asked as he watched the biobed scan results.

All looked fine, he saw nothing to be overly concerned about except that the Lt.’s electrolytes were a bit low and she could be in better physical condition. As an engineer he wasn’t surprised to note it. Most engineers tended to become so involved in their work that they didn’t take enough time to eat or exercise.

Lisa shook her head.
“No Doctor, nothing that I’m aware of.” She replied looking around the bed space. She noticed an auto suture next to her. She reached over and began to fiddle with it while she waited. She noticed another and picked that up too. Then.... What happens when you don’t lone them up?
“The warpcore will explode.” She mumbled absent mindedly as she placed them on the counter in a perfect line.

Dr. Sorel studied her for a moment, watching her. Was this just a bit if an idiosyncrasy or something more? He glanced back down to his medical data pad, studying the notes on file. She was described as manic but brilliant.
“Do you have a worry about the warp core exploding, Lt.?” He finally asked.
