Dr Jorath looked over at the engineer working the transporter, “Permission to come aboard?” he asked.

“Permission granted Lieutenant Jorath” the young engineer responded.

Jorath Stepped down off the transporter with nothing more than a small bag of personal items from home. He had transferred his experiments to his apprentice since the Asimov did not have the facilities to accommodate the complex exobiology work he had been doing. “Thank you Ensign, please inform the XO and Captain of my arrival” he finally responded and left for his new quarters.

After dropping his bag in his quarters Jorath worked his ways down to his office, he wanted to get a feel for it and the lab. He looked over the moderate but suitable office it would do nicely, its not like he would spend much time here.

Exiting the office, he looked over the lab and the various crew members that worked there. Not wanting to disturb their work he would leave introductions for later. Instead, he looked over various elements of the lab which was mostly set up for surveillance and intelligence gathering. Impressive to be sure but not what he was used to.

Feeling a little out of his element he crossed the hall and entered astrometrics which was thankfully empty. “Computer Display the Trill home world and surrounding system” he said. He sat and watched his home world thinking about how long it had been since he had been home.

The door to astrometrics slid open and a tall woman stepped, the door the only noise that announced her presence. Plain brown hair was swept up into a simple twist, emphasizing the tidy nature of the rest of her appearance- her red uniform with three pips was in order, was were her boots. Foggy blue eyes watched him for a moment. “I hear Trill is a great place for a beach vacation. So not my vibe though.”

Varen turned his head and shoulders slightly to see who had enter the room. His eyes shifted to the collar briefly to check rank but recognized Commander Calloway’s face from her picture.
“Commander.” He said as he rotated his heel and came to attention. He was not sure yet how strict protocol was on the ship. The commander spoke and seemed relaxed enough but better not push his luck on day one.
