USS Asimov

Sim Conclusion - The Way Home

Nine months later…

It had been a tumultuous time for the crew of the Asimov. Branded mutineers, murderers, and worse; the crew had willingly sacrificed their good names and reputations to fulfill the need to get inside the criminal organization known as The Shadow Syndicate.

Changing ships and working to make a name for themselves as pirates and mercenaries; they hijacked high-end military weapons, abducted and held high-value criminals for ransom, stole Orion Syndicate funds from ships and stations, and created a reputation as a group that could do anything… if the price was right. All of this was done while behind the scenes, the Command Staff dealt with the knowledge that there was an Augment on board, hidden inside their very crew. Their agenda was unknown, and they seemed to stay steps ahead of anything the team did to try and identify them.

That earned reputation garnered them an invitation into the Shadow Syndicate itself. And with that came the culmination of their primary mission: install a previously impersonated Star Fleet Intelligence Agent into the Syndicate hierarchy, convincing them that he was the individual impersonating himself.

And it worked.

For the next seven months, the Asimov and her continued to operate as members of the organization; fulfilling requests and undertaking multiple criminal operations across Federation space and beyond. But it was their last mission that everything came to a head.

The Augment finally made their presence known. Elias Balthazar, a prisoner aboard the Asimov’s first stop- Cantraken Station- had orchestrated and manipulated dozens of situations and created others in a bid to escape the Station. Disguising himself as a member of the Asimov crew (a much easier task as most had undergone plastic surgery to disguise their identities), he used the entire mission as a jail break. Once he was where he needed to be for his plans, he fled the ship after inserting a virus into the computer core that locked out everyone on the ship, trapping them in passageways and quarters for almost two days while the ship traveled at warp to an unknown destination.

Thanks to the efforts of the crew, they were able to wrest majority of control of the ship back and purge the virus. When they did, an automated message played. It was Balthazar. In the message, he thanked the crew for all their efforts in providing him an avenue of escape. He also made the crew a promise: the Shadow Syndicate, which he created over the years specifically for this moment, would no longer operate inside the Federation. The organization would take no action to disrupt any Federation activity… as long as they too were left alone. He also made it clear… if Star Fleet or anyone affiliated with them tried to find him or capture him again, he would rain terror down upon countless planets and innocent lives. The message ended there, and there was no further record of him anywhere on the ship. It was the ship dropped out of warp a few light years from a Federation Starbase.

True to their word, Intel Agent Blue and FedSec Agent Pikelsimer contacted their respective organizations and started the process of reintegration of the crew with their original lives and identities. Over several weeks, the entire crew was debriefed, assessed for mental health issues, and cleared of any and all charges. They were restored to their original appearances; and their families informed that they were alive and well, and would be home soon.

Officially, the crew was absolved of all crimes committed in the pursuit of the Shadow Syndicate. The crew was also awarded the TriStar Cluster; a medal presented by Starfleet for great acts of courage during extreme circumstances. On the medal were three stars that represented honor, pride and courage.

After their return the ship and crew were sent to Metil V, a resort world, for two weeks of well-deserved rest.
