‘Volk’ slipped out of the lounge of the cruise-liner and into the main passageways, flicking an ear and nodding slightly in acknowledgment of a fellow serving-class, a waiter carrying drinks. Unlike the high-class passengers, they could afford to be truly polite to one another without it being steeped in politics. He continued walking through the corridors, quietly following his mental map of the ship and the schedules of the crew, winding around in a seemingly aimless wander on the way to the scrambler room. He wasn’t planting the charges right now. They weren’t even on him. That would be happening closer to the time of the extraction, but he liked to get his eyes on a place before having to actively infiltrate it. He had a cover story cooked up just in case anyone questioned his presence, but hopefully he wouldn’t need to use it.Volk, Bodyguard
His trip was short-lived. As he got near the center of the vessel, there was a sealed bulkhead in place. Odd, but knowing the layout of the ship it was easy enough to adjust his route. But then he encountered another. And then another. Multiple decks, multiple bulkheads. All sealing off the the operations area of the ship. It was on his last foray that ended in a dead end that things became…tense.
As Volk reached the sealed-off area, a voice spoke from behind him. “Mr. Volk. You are not authorized to be in this area.” The speaker was an Orion in a dark suit- ship’s security. Flanking him were two other figures. Another Orion male, and a Naussican. All carried disruptor rifles. “We have watched you try to access the Operations area on several levels, sir. Are you looking for something in particular?” the speaker asked.
Ship Security
“Confirming the safety of the ship,” Volk replied, leaning up against a wall with a casual shrug. “Boss is always a little stressed about security when it comes to his little Angel,” he lifted his hands to make scare quotes around the words ‘little angel. “Likes me to scope out a ship once his kid and I’ve boarded to make sure there were no lies on the advert about security. If I can find a way into the security systems, any old saboteur could!”
The Security Team leader just looked at him, obviously not buying what he was selling.
He reached over to knock on the bulkhead with a grin. “Looks like you fellas have got this place locked up pretty good though. Boss’ll be real glad. Give a good review, or whatever them rich folks like to do. I dunno, just do what I’m told.” He shrugged again.
“Mmm-hmm. Well, while we appreciate your… ‘inspection’, sir… this is a restricted area and you will leave. Now, please.” the Orion said and stepped slightly to the side and gestured back down the passageway. “I will ask you to go see to your charge.”

Internally, Mwezi was thinking at a mile a minute, very different to the laissez faire vibe of his cover identity. He was calculating patterns of movement that he’d need to take in order to take down this trio if needed and wondering how in the world he was going to access the scrambler room.
Volk, Bodyguard
“Course, boss, whatever you say,” Volk said with and easy smile, ambling back in the direction of… not the operations area. He reviewed the blueprints Calloway and the other mission leads had showed him, remembering whether they’d showed him any more surreptitious pathways into operations. He wasn’t a spy by trade, after all, his job had always been to protect places, not to infiltrate them.

Recalling the plans showed that while most, if not all, of the main passages would be more than difficult to gain access through; there was a single lift directly form the kitchen to the Operations office. It was small, only a single (and average sized) individual would be able to fit in it. It was used to bring meals to the security team monitoring the ship’s internal security systems.

Mwezi furrowed his brow at the realisation. He was, quite notably, not an average sized individual. If he wanted to make use of the Kitchen elevator, it wouldn’t be him riding in it. With his nearly eight-foot frame, there was no way he’d fit. Hmm. There may have been some oversight in the planning of this mission. He reviewed his options, not sure what to do. He could possibly recruit another one of the infiltration team, but he worried that whatever they might encounter on the other end of the elevator would be too much… He let out a frustrated breath as he rejoined “Miss Trevante” in the lounge.
