Sometimes you just had to take matters into your own hands and make shit happen. It was the story of Shara’s life. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. Meeting some of the most important people in her life had been sheer luck and being in the right place at the right time. Did she believe in fate? Nah, not her style. But also knew enough to know that not everything could, or needed to, be explained.Today though, Shara Calloway was claiming control of her mind by asking others to step in. This was a big deal. Yes, her and Dr. Ryley had already had a quick chat about her situation, but he had left before he and McMillan could work out options. If there was something Shara needed right now, it was options.
So she drafted a note to the new CMO, Dr. Izei, and Counsellor McMillan:
||I’m requesting a meeting between the three of us to discuss my ongoing mental health needs. Due to our mission, time is of the essence, so at your earliest convenience, let’s meet in Sickbay for a chinwag. Dr. Izei, I request you look over my medical records prior. Much of my personnel record is classified but my health records are not. What I will say is that my previously controlled PTSD symptoms have flared quite badly and my medication is no longer effective. The Counsellor and I discussed the situation and he suggested Medical get involved. So that’s what we’re doing.
~Shara Calloway||
Shara looked over the message and cringed. It was necessary but she hated it. It wasn’t about weakness or any such nonsense, but rather that she was at this point at all. It couldn’t be helped, but it was frustrating to feel so out of control. And Shara hated feeling out of control. Ask anyone.
She tapped the key and sent the message off with a sigh. Well, here went nothing.

Aasrel read the note as soon as it arrived to him. He spent a moment reading over the indicated records and notes, and then sent off a reply.
Calloway,
I am more than willing to do a consult regarding medication to cover your current needs. I will be available later today if yourself and the Counselor will be able to meet me in sickbay.
~ Izei
The note was short and to the point, but it got the idea across, so he hit send.
~ Izei, CMO
Part of the whole crux of the matter was that she wasn’t sure medication was even useful any more. But despite her intensive medic training (for an op, of course), Shara was not a doctor and she didn’t know what all was available to her. So she’d have to see what he thought about it all.
To Izei: ||Thank you. I can meet this afternoon, say around 1500 hours. MacMillan that work for you?||
~Shara Calloway, CIO
Paddy was in his quarters when he received the note, he was certainly glad of more help with the difficult situation he found himself in with Commander Calloway, but as always, was eager to help a crew member in need.
1500 is fine by me Doc, see you both in Sickbay!
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
1500 rolled around, and Aasrel awaited their arrival in his office. That would be a good and private place to chat. He wasn’t well trained in mental health, but he might be able to offer a few suggestions medically they haven’t tried.
~ Izei, CMO
The older officer meandered into Sickbay at the expected time. Shara was not in a hurry to have this meeting even if she was also anxious to have something sorted out. As often they did, two opposites hung in balance with each other. Her plain brown hair was rolled up at the back of her head, and she was dressed not as her alter-ego Elaine, but more as herself off duty. Grey cargo pants, a black turtleneck sweater and chunky black boots. Serious attire but casual and comfy.
She knocked on the frame of the door as a courtesy and poked her head in as the door slid open. “Is it okay to come in?” Calloway said, taking him and his office with foggy blue eyes.

Paddy had placed himself on one of the meeting desks in Sickbay, nervous as to whether Commander Calloway would react to him negatively. It was safe to say he was glad of the help, “Evenin Commander, hope your day’s gone well?”
