Sometimes you just had to take matters into your own hands and make shit happen. It was the story of Shara’s life. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. Meeting some of the most important people in her life had been sheer luck and being in the right place at the right time. Did she believe in fate? Nah, not her style. But also knew enough to know that not everything could, or needed to, be explained.

Today though, Shara Calloway was claiming control of her mind by asking others to step in. This was a big deal. Yes, her and Dr. Ryley had already had a quick chat about her situation, but he had left before he and McMillan could work out options. If there was something Shara needed right now, it was options.

So she drafted a note to the new CMO, Dr. Izei, and Counsellor McMillan:

||I’m requesting a meeting between the three of us to discuss my ongoing mental health needs. Due to our mission, time is of the essence, so at your earliest convenience, let’s meet in Sickbay for a chinwag. Dr. Izei, I request you look over my medical records prior. Much of my personnel record is classified but my health records are not. What I will say is that my previously controlled PTSD symptoms have flared quite badly and my medication is no longer effective. The Counsellor and I discussed the situation and he suggested Medical get involved. So that’s what we’re doing.

Shara looked over the message and cringed. It was necessary but she hated it. It wasn’t about weakness or any such nonsense, but rather that she was at this point at all. It couldn’t be helped, but it was frustrating to feel so out of control. And Shara hated feeling out of control. Ask anyone.

She tapped the key and sent the message off with a sigh. Well, here went nothing.

Aasrel read the note as soon as it arrived to him. He spent a moment reading over the indicated records and notes, and then sent off a reply.

Calloway,

I am more than willing to do a consult regarding medication to cover your current needs. I will be available later today if yourself and the Counselor will be able to meet me in sickbay.

The note was short and to the point, but it got the idea across, so he hit send.
