Having finished both his physical and psych eval, Kohana was soon to be off to his third meeting. This time it was the Chief Intelligence Officer, Cmdr. Shara Calloway, and he needed a little time to do his own investigation on his new DH.

Being in intelligence himself, Kohana had more access to crew personnel files than any regular office. He looked into Calloway, only to find that much of her file had been redacted. He wasn’t surprised by that fact. She had been in the Intel field for a long time, and from what he could gather, had most often worked alone and gone deep under
cover. That definitely said something about her–you had to be good if you were in that line of field work for as long as she had been. Kohana figured this was an excellent opportunity to learn more about undercover work from one of the best.

Before closing her file back up, his eye caught her personnel photo. Though much older than him, she was still an attractive woman and he guessed that using seduction as a skill to get information probably came natural to her.

He hesitated one more time before closing the file. He gave her photo a closer look . . . .there was . . . . something there. Something familiar. Was it those intense steel grey-blue eyes? He couldn’t quite put a place or time on it, but there was something definitely familiar. Had they crossed paths or worked together in the past, she using an alias? That was going to nag at his brain until he found out, and there was only one way to do that. . . .

A few moments later and Kohana was at the door to the comm center. He punched his access code into they keypad beside the door, only to hear the computer voice say, “Access denied.”

That confirmed it for him that Calloway was still inside. The only people that had higher access to the center was Calloway, the CO, and XO.
