Blue and Picklesimer had gotten them schematics of the Argon Wind. Bethany was pouring over them examining their security systems, both offensive and defensive. As well as how their computer systems integrated. When the time came, she wanted to know that she could hack the system. Assuming the team on board was able to bring the transport inhibitors down. She had given Mwezi the charges. She had given Martel a fund little program that would cause the computer to mix and display and interface in 20 different languages. But not one at a time. They would all be mixed. Attempts at a UT would cause everything to scramble and display in a new pattern of mixed languages. It wouldn’t actually hurt anything, but it would cause chaos and make it near impossible to make anything work.

Then she pulled up the records of Captain Rebecca Ann Forther. Anything and everything from her service record, to her tactics, both ship and hand to hand, and anything else that might give them an upper hand in the coming conflict.

The system wasn’t the most secure one she had ever seen.. but it was close. Air-gapped from any outside connection save for comms, the system was coated in illegal Black ICE programs and some of the most robust security programs commercially available… and some not commercially available. Just reviewing the plans she had been given caused the ship’s computer to erect a firewall around her terminal. But there was one small thing that she noticed that most wouldn’t…

The system was running at maximum processing power.

Whomever had built the computer system was either looking to have a way in if they wanted; or they were simply irresponsible. By maxing out the computing power of their core, they left no room for the computer to make adjustments to unforeseen issues… like a hacking attempt from inside the ship.

That was good news. The program she sent with Martel should take advantage of that little misuse of system resources.

That was the good news. She then hit the bad (very bad) news. Pulling up the record of the ship’s Captain was enough to make any would-be assailant curse. Out loud. In several languages. Captain Rebecca Ann Forther was one of the most decorated officers in the entire history of Star Fleet. So much so she had been awarded the Pike Medal of Valor… twice. She was a brilliant tactician, and born leader, and a tenacious fighter. Her reputation as an unorthodox opponent spanned the galaxy; to the point that the mere appearance of her ship on the scene caused a Borg cube to break off their attack because the odds had shifted so considerably against them. She had commanded a myriad of vessels from light escorts up to dreadnaughts… and all performed far above the norm. She was brilliant, she was cunning, and she was absolutely the best Star Fleet had to offer for decades. And then she retired at the age of sixty-four, taking a job as a private ship’s captain to fill in the days.

Bethany wad not a tactician. They had a senior Tactical Officer but they stayed back at the station. Intel, security she could do. She was an analyst by training and a top notch hacker. She was not a ship’s tactics expert.

“Let’s see who you have working for you Cpt Forther.” Bethany accessed any information, even if she had to quietly access the clouds system, on the crew and officers. From bridge and engineering to security to basic staff. Looking for anyone of note, as well to see if there was any I formation in the private guards of the guests that were sure to be on board as well. Surely Blue and Picklesimer had some of that information available.
