It was stupid. Such a weird oversight that while her higher clearance could slip through in a pinch, made her have to stalk about the ship like she didn’t belong there. If she didn’t know any better, she’d think these little slights were on purpose and by design.

They didn’t have tons of time to get comfy with their new ship and so Shara just had to put her big girl panties on, suck it up and ask like a grown-up. Uggh.

She arrived at Bethy’s office, not having interacted one-on-one since the COS ran away from Shara’s botched gathering. She pressed the chime.

Bethany had an open door policy for her office. So unless she had specifically locked it for security reasons (meetings, classified documents, etc.) the door would open automatically. Which it did so now. Bethany looked up from her screen. It was just known crew on the ship, but Bethany was too well trained to slip out of character now. “Elaine, what can I do for you?”

She stepped in, fully in character but it was strangely harder since they boarded the new ship. “I was hoping to appeal to logic and you could grant me access to an area of the ship I should have access to but by design I don’t.” She moved out, turned a chair around and straddled it, folding her arms on the desk. “The Secondary Armoury. I know it’s stocked the same as this one next to you, and I have access to this one as automatically, but I don’t with the other. It wasn’t default, and I need you, or the Captain or first mate to give me access. It doesn’t seem right given my role, does it? Especially if there was an emergency, and our mission. And I could just make the access happen myself, but I figured you’d probably take it personally. So I thought I’d just ask. With a pretty please, and a cherry on top?” Shara said simply.
